For their opening game, the Upper Moreland field hockey team learned quickly on both offense and defense to put together a solid TEAM win. On offense, Olivia Meakim scored her first varsity goal 5 minutes into the game. Then Meakim recorded another off an assist from captain Maggie Morrow. Truman fought back though with a goal of their own in the 2nd quarter.
After halftime, the defense started playing together with Cambrie Richmond, Julia Gallen and Eowyn Stainback moving the ball up the field. Kelly Bates was dominant at Sweeper not letting Truman get a shot off in the 2nd half.
Ella Gould scored her first varsity goal with a shot from the right post. Two minutes later, Kyleigh Convey tapped in her first varsity goal with a pass from Morrow. Then 25 seconds later, Maggie Morrow scored with an assist from Gould for Morrow's 3rd point of the game. Meakim finished off her hat trick with a stellar assist from captain Ava Bailey. Addi Hurley was steady in goal controlling her circle with great communication to her defense.
