Freshman Carly Prichett capitalized with the game-winner from Junior Jessie Betz to lift Tennent field hockey to a 1-0 win against Truman on Thursday afternoon at Claude Lodge Field. Truman stayed tied into the halftime and was held scoreless by the Lady Panthers. For the duration of the game, the lady panthers focused on strategic execution in their transitions and combination of passes.

"It feels wonderful," said Tennent head coach Kaitlyn Rauchut. "To overcome the obstacles set forth with weather and scheduling, I am extremely pleased with the performance and it says a lot about our character."

Tennent came out extremely strong. Tennent neglected to capitalize on the multiple offensive end opportunities. "A win boosts confidence and reestablished our goal to move forward as team, there's no question," said Rauchut. "But for us, we always know there are learning opportunities. Today we continued to learn. We learned we can’t rely on one single goal to solidify the game today.” Rauchut commented the offensive execution of Prichett, Sarah Starr, Jenna Cragin, Karly Adkins, Liz Sebzda and Erica Luongo.

“Truman was a wonderful opponent. As a hockey enthusiast, I love the growth that has taken place within their program due to tremendous coaching and dedication.”
“Our team goal is to put the team first through any adversity. It is so important to discuss to the whole entire group, and we did come out really strong but we just have to be more productive in the first half.”

Tennent has two games remaining in their home stands and will next face Wissahickon at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4.
