The Central Bucks South Titans held off an inspired Pennridge Rams team to win 9-8 in Suburban One Continental Conference boys lacrosse action at War Memorial field in Doylestown on Wednesday night. Pennridge took advantage of numerous CB South penalties to score several doorstep goals and keep the game close down the stretch, but the Titans were able to hold off the Rams to spoil the upset. The Rams Eric Fernandez scored his fourth goal of the night on a two-man up situation to make the score 9-8 with less than two minutes to go, but the CB South defense held off the charging Rams on an intercepted pass by Titans defenseman Kevin Uzelac with a minute to play. CB South’s Kevin Witchey sealed the win with a key ground ball as time expired. On offense, the Titans balanced attack was led by Brendan McGrath with two goals and an assist and Jake Henze with a goal and two assists. Ty Strayline and Ty McGee each had two goals, while Joel Zimmerman and Willie Pendleton each added a goal for CB South. In addition to Fernandez scoring four, Heimbach had three goals for Pennridge while Matt Brown had a goal and an assist. Dachowski added a goal and Puras had two assists. With the win, CB South improved to 6-2 in the Continental Conference and 9-3 overall, while Pennridge dropped to 1-6 in the league and 3-9 overall.
