Central Bucks West jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead when Nick Werner picked up a ground ball off of the initial face off and scored with just 13 seconds into the game.The Bucks played with a lot of emotion, slowed the game down throughout the first half and kept the game close. The Patriots led this tight contest at the half by a score of 4-2.

East took over the game in the second half. The 3rd quarter started with an East penalty and the Patriots were forced to play man-down. While trying to kill the penalty, East's senior defenseman, Joe Thiroway, forced a West turnover with a stick check, then scooped up the ground ball ran the ball the length of the field, passed to Ryan Bullotta who passed to an open Ryan Brown who scored to make the score 5-2. The Patriots never looked back and went on to score 3 more goals in the next 5 minutes to take a commanding 8-2 lead. Brown scored all 3 of his goals in the 3rd quarter. West added a goal and the score was 8-3 at the end of the 3rd quarter. East outscored West 2 goals to 1 in the 4th and cruised to a 10-4 win.

Offensively, the Patriots were led by Michael Ott who won 11 of 17 face-offs, had 10 ground balls, scored a hat- trick and was credited with an assist. Brown also added a hat-trick and an assist. Ryan Schmidt added 2 goals, while Ryan Stout and Alec Bracken had a goal apiece. Drew Bethke had 3 ground balls, Thiroway was credited with 2, while Stout, Bullotta, Jake Ventresca, Bryan McIntosh, and Colin Stein each had 1 ground ball.

East's defense was very aggressive and stingy as it limited West to just 4 goals. Thiroway and Brown led the Patriots with 2 caused turnovers, while Ventresca, Ott, and Bethke were each credited with 1. East's sophomore goalie, Liam Rosenthal, was very strong in goal chalking up 10 saves.

With the victory East improved to 13-2 ( 8-0 SOL), they have won 10 games in a row, and are currently ranked No. 2 in the PIAA District One 3A power rankings. The Patriots host Council Rock South on Thursday, and travel to Radnor on Friday to close out the regular season.
