Comments:

It was overall a great game. I am so proud of my team, and how hard they fought. Courtney Curry and Paige Keller were all over the field today. Courtney Curry was unstoppable when going to cage, and Keller was dominating the draws for us. It stinks that it came down to one goal at the end. Rylee Surovec scored a goal that got taken away, and West went down the field and scored the last goal of the game. Aidenn, Olivia, Sierra, and Emma were communicating and sliding on our defensive end. I wish more than anything that these girls got this win on their record, because they have come such a long way this season. Honestly, in my heart I will count this for them. Everything they have been working on shined through this game.

On a side note, I am so happy we got to grow the game and invite our local CBAA girls to join us. Trying to promote girls to stay public has been difficult. It was so great to see some of my own students from Doyle on the field with their future team. Overall it was a great experience for them to see CB East and West battling it out in a great competition.

Todays game was a hard fought win. East gave us a quick run for our money putting up 4 goals on us in the first few minutes of the game. That run of quick goals told us they weren’t messing around and they were ready to play hard. Thankfully we turned on the jets, found our rhythm, and answered back by pulling ahead by a 4 goal lead by half. It was really impressive to see my attacking players finally come together to run some big offensive runs. They distributed the ball across the team and saw each other well in transition. Our leading scorer of the game was Ashley Lott who recently came back from an injury. She came up big today with 4 goals and 1 assist.

Bella Schrandt had 3 goals and 1 assist

Kate Weyer had 1 goal and 2 assists

Hope Dryden had 2 goals

Grace Naylor had 1 goal and 1 assist

And then Isabella Carter and Emma Schrandt both had 1 goal each

I was thoroughly impressed with East’s midfielder, Courtney curry. Her tenacity in putting the ball in the back of the net lead east to closing the gap and almost got them to overtime. It really came down to Margot Haring with a huge stop in the last few seconds of the game that prevented us going into overtime with the patriots.

Margot had 7 saves in this game and has well surpassed her 200th varsity career saves milestone, this game was a celebration of that and she came ready to hold true to being a wall between the pipes.
Run some big offensive sets* not runs (a bit redundant there)
