In their home opener, Council Rock North Girls Lacrosse secured a 15-2 victory over Gwynedd Mercy Academy, with outstanding contributions from their Senior Captains. Maddy Mela with 2 goals, 2 assists, and 2 ground balls, while Charlotte Ondria had a hat-trick. Liza McBride with 4 ground balls and 8 draw controls, and Julie Ondria facilitated 2 assists.
Sophomore Cat McBride had a nice daytallying 6 goals, 8 ground balls, 6 draw controls, and 3 forced turnovers. Freshman Ellie Carney made a notable home debut, contributing 2 goals, 1 assist, and 3 ground balls, while sophomore Gabby Mann added 2 goals, 1 ground ball, and 2 caused turnovers.
The standout performance, however, came from the stellar defensive unit led by goalkeeper Lucy Carney. Carney's exceptional display included 10 saves on 16 shots faced, effectively thwarting Gwynedd Mercy's scoring attempts. Junior Keiley Lyons 1 caused turnover and 2 GB, alongside Addison Kohler 2 cause turnovers and 3 GB and Addison Deppi 1 Caused turnover 2 GB, further contributing to Council Rock North's cohesive defensive effort.
