On a day when Annie Price scored her 100th career goal, Emelie Curtis went over 100 career points and Maddie Spratt showed that she'll be challenging those numbers soon enough, the key players for the Pennsbury girls' lacrosse team were the ones who can't easily be measured statistically.

Pennsbury's defense played its best game of the season as the Falcons defeated Upper Moreland 14-8, improving to 10-6 and reaching double figures in victories one season after winning just four games.

The Falcon D of Gillian Dysart, Mia Doron, Sydney Plunkett, Caitlin Doyle, Katie Bryson and Samie Hackman held UM to just 15 shots in the game and limited the visitors to two goals during a 31:04 stretch as Pennsbury turned a 3-3 tie midway through the first half into an 11-5 lead midway through the second.

Spratt, a freshman, had a career-high six goals and added an assist for a seven-point day, giving her 16 goals and 12 assists for the year. Curtis, a sophomore, scored the first goal of the day to give her 100 career points and later added another goal and two assists.

As for the Princeton-bound Price, she had a two-goal, three-assist afternoon. It was her goal with 14:29 to go built the lead to six at 11-5.

That goal was also the 100th of her career, to go along with 51 career assists for 151 career points. Price had just one goal and no assists for her freshman year and had just six goals for her career eight games into her sophomore season before adding 94 in the 43 games since.

Lily Nolan had two goals for Pennsbury, and Nell Webber and Brooke Weaver had one each. Webber, Sarah Mac Davis and Emily Engeland had an assist each.

The win moved Pennsbury into 23rd place in the District 1 AAA power rankings. The Falcons end the regular season hosting New Hope-Solebury Friday.
