Pennsbury Comments

The 2018 Pennsbury girls lacrosse team has played two games and is halfway to equaling last year's win total.

For the second time in two games, Pennsbury defeated a team it lost to a year ago as it got six goals and four assists from Annie Price and another six goals and an assist from Lily Nolan to roll past Villa Joseph Marie 17-4 Friday afternoon.

VJM's Grace Hageman scored twice, including the 100th goal of her career.

Pennsbury, coming off a 4-13 season, opened with a win over a Wissahickon team it lost to a year ago by six goals and then the win over VJM, who beat Pennsbury by five in 2017.

The Falcons came out flying, as Price took the opening draw and fed Nolan for a goal just 12 seconds in. Price then scored her first on the next possession, making it 2-0 less than a minute in. By halftime Price had four goals and four assists and the score was 12-4.

Emelie Curtis had two goals and two assists for the second straight game for Pennsbury, while Brooke Weaver had two goals and an assist and Sarah Mac Davis had one of each.

Kelley Connor also had two goals for Villa.

Pennsbury outshot Villa 33-12, and Villa goalie Samantha O'Hara made 11 saves.

Pennsbury is at Hatboro-Horsham Monday night.
