Council Rock North Comments
At North the Indians took the lead 12 minutes into the match on
a Windsor Varady goal off a Keertan Palayam assist. That was
all the home side needed to secure the win in what turned out to
be a "two half game" dominated by North in the first session. Credit
to Bensalem for making halftime adjustments, greater effort and
execution after intermission. Bensalem coach Kevin Bock did a fine
job of getting his squad to disrupt North's attack in the final 40 minutes.
North goalie Calvin Hopkins gets credit for the shutout along with another
standout effort from the defensive core of Mike Pinho, Darek Miller, Dom
Czachor and sweeper Jasper Ring. Defensive midfielders David Igval and
Isaac Morais had solid games in the middle of the park. North outshot
Bensalem 14-3 and led in the corner kick category 11-4. The wins makes
the Indians 2-0-0 on the season and Bensalem drops to 0-2-0. North hosts
Archbishop Wood on Friday and Bensalem travels to Archbishop Ryan on
Saturday evening.
