Very competitive game today. Bob does a good job with Bensalems group. We knew coming in after they won on Tuesday that they would be ready and I think our girls did a good job early in the game of competing and staying aggressive. Mia Cairone was able to
score early and that helped set the tone. Both teams continued to trade possession before a long pass from Sara Tyler released Mia again to score. Bensalem fought back and Mairin Coghlan made a great save on a breakaway before they scored on a cross and finish.
Our girls did well to stay composed and we able to add a 3rd goal through Lexi Fischer who beat her defender and fired one across goal.
Both teams traded chances in the second half, Bensalem hit the crossbar and Mairin had to make 2 more really good saves to keep our lead.
Overall we were pleased to get the win, it was a team effort today and outside of Mia’s goals and Mairin’s saves we thought Amber Yuan did well in the second half, while Sara Tyler remains important for us in the middle of the field .
