Nice 3-1 win against Springfield tonight. First goal from Keira Huber. We have been working heading the ball with a purpose recently, and not only did Keira do a good job distributing the ball today from her headers, but she started our scoring by running through the ball, heading it over the Springfield goalie and into the back of the net. Second goal was tenacity and placement by striker Valentina Sellecchia. She fought for the ball and after winning it created a one on one with goalie placing it in the back of the net. The third goal was some smart play between Amelia Brown and Nikki Sahl that lead to a nice cross and then finish by Shannon Mahon.
Springfield has a really strong attack -our defensive line goal keeper Sandra Malave worked really hard at containing them. Kenna Rozanski had a great game in the middle -varying our attack and distributing the ball really well.
Morgan Pennisi should actually be credited for the assist to Valentina. She started to play.
