This is the first game back after the crossover and our third game this week, and it was 100 minutes of hard fought soccer. I am really proud of our girls for the grit, determination and unity they played with. We came out strong in the first half winning 50/50 balls and stringing together some really dangerous opportunities. We weren't able to capitalize but we knew we just needed some time.

We made a few adjustments in the second half, and we were able to step up and use our forced opportunities. Maggie Brophy took a corner at the 46th minute and was able to find Brooke Lobban who headed the ball in. We have been stressing this point of capitalizing on our set pieces, so it was awesome to see a corner with a header goal---kudos to Lobban, she utilized her speed and read the flight of the ball perfectly. Kudos to Brophy for the ridiculously good placement.

The remainder of the second half and into the overtime we had chances, some very dangerous but LM's defense and goalie were able to collapse and hold us off. Again, we had a really strong offensive effort, we just couldn't put away the winner. It was a great game, with momentum flowing from one side to the other, and each team giving their all.

It was a solid team effort, with each girl giving their all. There is no doubt that we left it all on the field.
