William Tennent Comments
We went into this game looking for some retribution as historically we have come out of the game on the losing end. We knew the players we had to watch on top and our defensive pairing of Theresa Ditri and Sami Roby did a great job of containing them. They took them off their game and did not allow them any time or space to execute. Our first goal came 15 minutes into the game off a shot from distance from Paige Marek. Kaitlyn Frank had a strong game in the midfield as well. Freshman Leila Santos came off the bench for an injury and was a huge asset in left mid with her speed and composure on the ball. The second goal was in the second half by Brielle Langford with an assist from Maddie Hughes. Emily Ehresmann made some key saves off several restarts in dangerous areas of the field. Our defensive line was able to hold LM to only 2 corner kicks which in the past has been one of our achilles heels. The whole team has really stepped up in the last few games and have turned the momentum back in our favor going into the playoffs. We challenged the girls to finish with a win and they certainly delivered that tonight.
