Mount Saint Joseph’s – 0

Souderton – 3

Good win from the team today. We had a lot of the ball in the first half and were able to maintain possession but struggled to do anything with it. Mount held a strong line that caught us offsides frequently and made it difficult for our attacking players to get in behind. Our best chance finally came through a dangerous set piece ball from Nicole Schulingkamp, who did well to find fellow senior captain Hailey Rohr for the finish. Hailey’s header was enough to keep us up 1-0 at half time.

At half we talked about creating a sense of urgency to create some higher percentage chances for ourselves and we were able to make some adjustments to put the game away. Mount continued to hold a organized line, but luckily we were able to unlock the midfield a bit more to create some combinations to get us in behind. Hannah Beckett had a strong second half with two goals that helped us put the game away; one of which was a powerful strike to the corner. Hannah’s second goal came from some clean touches in build up from Aurora and Lily Heron. Lily will get the credit for the final assist to get Hannah in behind, but Aurora’s pass helped break the lines and create the opportunity as well.

Overall, a good team performance. Happy to get a win and clean sheet. We play at Harry S Truman on Tuesday.
