Upper Dublin Girls soccer team winning streak has grown to Seven. After starting the season 2-2, they have not lost in April. The current streak started against Cheltenham winning 5-0, next was Springfield 5-3, then finishing off that week was Plymouth-Whitemarsh 4-0. Last week they played Council Rock North beating 3-2 under the lights, then in the rain beating Upper Moreland 7-0 and in a beautiful Friday afternoon game beating Norristown 8-0, on Monday night they played a rain against Upper Merion and won 5-0.
Sophomore Allie Dayno has been outstanding in goal, now has 5 shutouts. Junior Larissa Nysch leads the team in scoring with 10 goals; Senior Sammy Waters has 6 goals; Freshman Erin Lafferty has 5 goals, Sophomore Emily Marvill and Senior Brianna Barnes have 4 goals each. The Cards are leading the American Conference at 7-0, and 9-2 overall..
“We had a few rough games early on, but after making a few adjustments we seem to have gotten back on track. Our first priority is always the League, so obviously we are thrilled to be unbeaten in league competion, but we also realize the importance of the non-league wins we've gotten (CR North, Pennsbury) We are about to enter the second round of league games and hope to match the success we had the first time through. If we can manage to do that, we should go into the playoffs with some good momentum. “stated Coach John Topper.
