Bensalem took an early lead in the 1st inning, Abbie Krevolin singled and Lina Sponheimer reached on a fielders choice and Aubrey Merz smacked a 2 out 2 RBI single. Unfortunately Bristol was able to immediately able to tie it up in the bottom on the inning. Bristol then tacked in 5 runs in the second on thanks to 3 Bensalem miscues.
The Owls were able to fight back scoring 2 runs in the 5th. Megan Klein singled and scored on Krevolin’s triple who then scored on a wild pitch. Senior Lina Sponheimer stepped up a hit a single to left field to record her 100th career hit.
They added one more in the 6th when Kayla Clarkson singled, Gina Oliverio walked and Megan Klein singled to load the bases. Krevolin stepped up and recorded her 3rd hit of day. Unfortunately the rally stopped there. Bristol is a really young team who is loaded with talented they are gonna be really good the next few years.
I have to credit Freshman Dana Oliverio, she came into pitch 4 innings in relief. She was moving the ball well and changing speeds, she kept the lineup in check allowing only 4 hits and 1 unearned run. She moved the ball well and changed speeds a lot.
