Central Bucks West Comments
We got another solid pitching effort from Sienna Lawson in the circle. Sienna three strong innings, giving up only one hit and striking out four. We also got an excellent effort from Ana Glemser in relief. Ana also threw three innings and gave up the only run of the game scored against West. Ana also struck out four in her three innings of work. CB West had thirteen hits in total and scored eleven runs in their 11-1 victory. Several girls had big days at the plate. Ana Glemser went two for four and had two RBIs and two runs scored. Laila Murray had a hit and drove in two runs. Chloe Dryden had two hits including a double and scored three runs while driving in a run. Molly Gibson struggled at the plate early in the game but broke out in a big way in her last at bat when she jumped on a 1-0 pitch for a two-run homer to deep left field. Avery Rubenstein and Ava Mattes both contributed two hits in a winning effort. Katherine James and Emily Gerstein both came off the bench and contributed their first hits of the season. Coach Daher said "it was great getting both of them involved in the game." Ava Mattes also did an outstanding job behind the plate, keeping every pitch in front of her and throwing out a runner late in the game on an attempted steal. Coach Daher said "it was a nice road win against a competitive Truman team. Truman battled us the entire game and made us work for every run that we scored. This was a good win for us coming off a win last week against Bensalem and heading into two challenging cross over games this week against Pennsbury and Neshaminy. Both of those teams are very good, and both hit the ball well and score runs. It was nice being able to get Sienna out of the game after three innings and to give her some rest. It was also good that we were able to get Ana into the game for the last three innings, giving her some important work pitching. I feel like we are in a pretty good place going into our next two games and playing well at this time."
