t was a pitcher's duel for most of the Lower Moreland vs. Wissahickon softball game. After five innings, Maddie Menchhoffer had 9 K's for the Lions, and Sydney Darnell had 8 K's for the Trojans.

Wissahickon scored first in the top of the 3rd inning when J. Lentz walked, stole 2nd base, and then scored on 2 throwing errors.

The score remained 1-0 until Lower Moreland exploded in the bottom of the 6th inning scoring 4 runs on 5 hits. Lead-off hitter Izzy O'Brien got the Lions started with a line drive to right field and then stole 2nd base. Nikki Sahl layed down a perfect bunt advancing O'Brien to 3rd base, who then scored when the throw down to first hit the back of Sahl's helmet as she crossed the base. Sahl stole 2nd and 3rd and then scored on an infield hit by Emma DiJoseph. DiJoseph advanced to 2nd base on a fielder's choice and scored on a single by Jordyn MacPhee. MacPhee advanced to 2nd base on a passed ball, Nina Dudek walked, and MacPhee scored on a fielder's choice by her sister, Alexis MacPhee. Annika Swanson added another hit for the Lions before the inning ended.

In the circle for the Lions, a little fatigue started to set in for Menchhofer as she put three Trojans on base with a walk and 2 hit by pitch. With bases loaded and nobody out, Menchhofer dug deep and struck out the next three batters to secure the win for the Lions, 4-1. Menchhofer pitched the complete game giving up 2 hits, 1 unearned run, 12 K's, and 3 BB's.
