Showing no ill effects from its opening round bye, the Colonials earned a hard-fought sweep in Thursday’s second round.
“They were an incredibly strong team, led by their outside hitters and strong serving game,” PW coach Seely Byler said.
Danielle Rippert had another big night for the Colonials, finishing with 10 kills and 28 digs. Lily Acquaviva had a team high 11 kills while Corrine Kalala had eight kills. Libero Olivia Carbo contributed 23 digs, 10 assists and four aces, and setter Bridget McTamney had 15 assists and 15 digs.
Plymouth Whitemarsh will host a familiar opponent in Tuesday’s quarterfinal round when the Colonials take on 10th-seeded Upper Merion.
