PENNRIDGE 2, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 0
Kennedy Peace scored both goals for the Rams helping them remain undefeated this season with a shutout victory over the host Patriots.
In the 10th minute, Dani Meenan assisted on Peace's first goal, and Megan Hirschbuhl later assisted on Peace's second goal with about two minutes left in the first half.
Sophomore goalkeeper Kaitlyn Moran got the shutout for Pennridge.
East got strong performances from Abby Brown and Cailyn Henkins.
As East (6-2-2, 4-2-2 SOL) and Pennridge (8-0-2, 6-0-2) had played to a 2-2 tie on Sept. 3, the Rams hold the tiebreaker over the Patriots if both teams finished even in the standings.
Pennridge head coach Audrey Anderson said the team was fortunate to get the victory, as she believes the final score didn’t reflect the competitiveness of this contest.
“We put two shots into the back of the net, but East outshot us and had more scoring opportunities,” Anderson said. “So if you’re just looking at the score, it really doesn’t tell the whole story of the night. It was a battle from start to finish, and East didn’t quit.”
Anderson’s young roster has come together quickly, in part because many of the players have been watching Pennridge soccer since they were 8-9 years old as part of the Deep Run club soccer teams, not a given for every school district.
“It starts from a young age: they see it, they believe in it, they buy into it, and when they get up there, that’s their school, and they have so much pride in it,” Anderson said. “I think they put pressure on themselves, so that they keep that tradition alive.”
Pennridge 2-0 2
CB East 0-0 0
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 5, QUAKERTOWN 0
Abby Mulhearn and Sam Lubin each scored a pair of goals, and Maddy Shaw added one in helping the host Bucks to a shutout victory over the Panthers.
The win enabled West (8-2-1, 5-2-1 SOL) to move into second place in the SOL Continental.
After their first meeting with Quakertown (2-6-1, 2-5-1 SOL) on Sept. 4, which ended in a scoreless tie, the Bucks were more determined to start quickly, West head coach Jorge Rodriguez said.
“The last time we played (the Panthers), it was a slow start for us, and they took it to us, and outplayed us in the first half,” Rodriguez said. “It was an awakening game for us, and this time, I thought the players played spirited soccer, trying to prove themselves that they can do better than the first time we met Quakertown.”
West is looking forward to its next match, Monday against Pennridge, to see whether it can begin closing the gap on the first-place Rams.
“Pennridge is playing very well right now, and (the Rams) look dangerous,” Rodriguez said. “One thing about them is that they do play the entire game, and those are the toughest teams to beat. They manage to play two good halves, and I’ve seen them do it more than once: they did it against us the last time (a 2-0 Pennridge victory Sept. 6).”
SOUDERTON 1, HATBORO-HORSHAM 0 (OT)
Freshman midfielder Bre DiRenzi scored in the 85th minute with an assist from senior defender and co-captain Beth McGee to give the host Indians (4-5, 4-4 SOL) an overtime victory over the Hatters (2-8-1, 0-7-1 SOL).
Souderton head coach Chris Felber praised all four senior captains—McGee, Siobhan McKenna, Paige Torchio and Kara Waskiewicz—in guiding the Indians to this win.
“McGee and Torchio played well at both wing-backs,” Felber said. “McKenna is just back from surgery, but she is giving it everything she has, and Waskiewicz has played multiple positions every game, yet she never complains and looks at home anywhere on the field.”

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 2, WILLIAM TENNENT 1 (2 OT)
For the second straight contest, the host Indians scored in the final minute of the second overtime, as Kayla Robinson scored with 32 seconds left on an assist from Michaela Finneyfrock.
“On Friday (2-1 at Bensalem), we scored with 12 seconds left in double-overtime, and today we scored with 32 seconds left,” North head coach Wendell Beres said. “So we’re getting every bit of our money’s worth from the officials, making them work the overtime.”
The win also moves North (7-2-1, 6-2-1 SOL) past Tennent (6-4-1, 5-3-1 SOL) into second place behind Pennsbury in the SOL National.
The Indians’ next match is Monday against Pennsbury.
Beres said the six-day break will help the squad, as some players have been battling colds lately.
“It was obvious today that we just didn’t have the hop in our step that I had seen the previous several games,” Beres said. “To our players’ credit, they battled and they played good soccer, they just were moving slower than usual. This break is perfect timing to re-tool, for Pennsbury and the second half of the season.”
Answering Tennent’s goal about 30 seconds after halftime, Tori Hill tied the contest in the 48th minute for North.
