American Conference
Wissahickon 3, Plymouth Whitemarsh 0
Through nine conference games this season, no team had been able to get the best of Plymouth Whitemarsh. Before Tuesday, that included Wissahickon.
But after a game of inches saw Wissahickon lose to the Colonials by one goal earlier in the season, the Trojans made some adjustments, came out and figured out how to get past PW, handing the Colonials (11-2-0, 9-1-0) their first conference loss of the season.
"The result was obviously pleasing," Wissahickon coach Stuart Malcolm said. "We did well today in terms of closing them down. We had a game plan going in, and we kind of frustrated them in the first half and got a couple of goals. We made it stand. We got one late to make the score look pretty good, but it was a tough battle for most of the game."
Senior Cole Kropnick scored his 12th goal of the season in the 11th minute, and Alex Chiodo-Ortiz followed with a goal of his own five minutes later to increase Wissahickon's lead to 2-0. Tom McHale added a late goal to cap the scoring. Fallen, Alex Tappen and Sam Hunt all drew assists.
Wissahickon goalkeeper John Carrozza stopped four shots while earning the shutout.
"It was nice of our goalkeeper to get the shutout in a game like this and against a team that keeps scoring well," Malcolm said. "They have a very strong and fast transition and are dangerous, and John did a nice job in goal. Our whole back line and defensive midfield played well, and they didn't give them a lot of room and time. My whole back line did a great job."
Wissahickon's back line consists of Shane Fallen, Ryan Becker, Alec Schwartz and Alex Escude.
PW goalkeeper Shane Smith also stopped four shots.
The Trojans (11-2-0, 8-2-0), who still trail the Colonials by one game, have momentum on their side moving forward.
"We're one game out, but I'm not sure if PW is really going to drop any more games,” Malcolm said. “It's theirs to lose right now, and we'll just concentrate on winning the games that we're playing in.
"With the new system, it's all about winning the games and getting the most points to put yourself in the higher seed. We’ll keep watching. If they keep winning, we need to keep winning, too."

Pennsbury 1, Bensalem 0
Pensbury's Keion Randolph scored an unassisted goal in the first half to lead the Falcons to a shutout victory over visiting Bensalem.
The Falcons saw goalkeeper Eric Gaglairdi record his fourth shutout of the season – his sixth overall.
"The defense was solid," Pennsbury coach Tom Stoddart said. "We really held the ball well today and when we had to scramble, Eric (Gaglairdi) came up with one big save. Keion stepped up like we thought he would as a senior, and he's looking to play at the next level. He's doing everything else he needs to do.
"I thought we played extremely well and we controlled the vast majority of the game. I was very pleased. We were really able to control the game and keep it under control."
While the Owls dropped to 2-6-0 in league play (3-8-0 overall), Pennsbury improved to 8-3-2 overall and 8-2-0 in conference play with the win.
"(Our thought moving forward) is the same thing we've talked about since the beginning of the season,” Stoddart said. “I think we have to get to the 10-win mark to secure a spot in the district tournament, and then I think we can play with anybody."

Abington 3, Council Rock South 3 (2 OT)
With only two conference wins thus far this season, a draw against second-place Abington would seem anything but disappointing for Council Rock South, but considering how the game ended, the Golden Hawks had some reason to be unhappy with the result.
CR South (3-5-1, 2-5-1) saw three separate leads slip away, allowing Abington (5-4-3, 4-4-2) to get back in the game continuously throughout a contest that resulted in a draw after two overtime periods.
The two teams were tied 1-1 at the half. CR South goals were scored by Sean Doyle, Mark Jurewicz and Reid Czapor. Doyle, Dylan Schwartz and Jake Shefsky assisted on the goals.

Central Bucks West 3, Souderton 1
Although his team took a 1-0 lead into halftime, Central Bucks West coach Stefan Szygiel wasn't all that happy with his team's effort.
"I wasn't pleased," he said. "We talked about that at halftime. We were winning 1-0, but we were lucky. Souderton was by far the better team in the first half."
A few adjustments here and there, two more goals and the Bucks were able to come out with a victory in Souderton’s Senior Night game.
"In the second half, we played with a lot more energy and a lot more belief," Szygiel said. "That's the thing with this team this year. We're getting them to believe that they can get the job done. Once they got that belief, you could see it on the field."
Brandon Morris scored CB West's first and third goals, while Tyler Updegrade scored the second. Jake Byers, Jack Tilley and Jason Dougle assisted on the three goals. Goalkeeper Daniel Merritt stopped 10 shots in the winning effort.
Souderton (6-5-2, 6-3-1 SOL) came into Wednesday’s game with a one-game lead in the conference standings, but as a result of the win, the Bucks now boast an identical league mark (7-4-2, 6-3-1).
This year, with the new district power rankings, it’s about more than just conference standings.
"With the new point system, it's all about the overall record and not your conference record," Szygiel said. "At this point, any win is a big win."
Souderton's lone goal was scored by Justin Molyneaux.

The Patriots improved to 12-1-0 overall and remained perfect in the conference at 10-0-0 following the win. The loss dropped the Hatters to 1-9-2 overall and 1-7-2 in conference play.
Central Bucks South 1, Pennridge 1 (2 OT)
Two overtime periods weren't enough to find a winner in the Central Bucks South – Pennridge game.
Cam Sheva scored the lone goal for the Rams, with the assist going to Ethan Aigeldinger. Pennridge goalkeeper Brody Giblin stopped five shots in net the host Rams, who led 1-0 at the half.
The tie was the fourth of the season for Pennridge, which is now 1-7-4 overall and 1-6-3 in conference play. The Rams now sit at 5-6-2 and 4-5-1, respectively.
Pennridge will face off against Upper Merion on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in a non-conference meeting.
