Wissahickon 11, Springfield Township 1 (6 innings)
Logan Williams tossed a four-hitter, allowing just one run while fanning eight and walking two in the abbreviated six-inning contest.
After Williams struck out the side in the top of the first, the Trojans got on the scoreboard with a single run in the bottom of the inning, capitalizing on a Nick Falso double and RBI single by William Brownlowe.
In the bottom of the second, the Trojans staged a two-out rally that began with a walk to Jeremy Spittle and was highlighted by an RBI single from Falso and a two-run double by Alexander Tappen. The Trojans tacked on three more runs in the third to go on top 8-0 before the Spartans got on the scoreboard, thanks to doubles by Chris Binet and Nick Pave (RBI).
The Trojans brought an early end to the game with three runs in the sixth. Ryan Becker delivered an RBI single to close it out.
Falso finished the day 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and three runs, and Becker was 3-for-5 with three RBIs and a run. Tappen was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Brownlee, David Kovacs and Julian Osterneck each added two hits to the Trojans’ 14-hit attack.

Neshaminy 7, Bensalem 6
The Redskins and Owls combined for 25 hits in a National Conference slugfest, and it was the Redskins eking out the win with a run in the top of the seventh to break a 6-6 tie. The inning was highlighted by singles from Jake Joyce, Matt Graham and Matt Gruzda (RBI).
The Owls threatened in the bottom of the inning, but the Redskins helped themselves by turning a short-to-second-to-first double play and escaped unscathed when – with a pair on board – TJ Arnao coaxed a grounder for the game’s final out.
Arno, who earned the win, threw four scoreless innings in a strong relief effort, scattering three hits while walking two and striking out a pair.
The Owls led 1-0 when Nick Mulvey, who singled and stole second, scored on a single by Joey Benedetti. The ‘Skins answered with two runs in the top of the second, thanks to a two run single from Jake Strickler.
Bensalem scored four in the bottom of the inning to go on top 5-2, sparked by RBI singles by Mulvey and Benedetti and a sacrifice fly by Rick Massott. Again, the Redskins answered, scoring two in the top of the third to make it a 5-4 game.
It was a 6-6 game after the Owls scored a single run in the third and the ‘Skins tacked on two more in the fourth. That tie stood until the seventh.
For the Redskins, Jake Joyce (3-for-4, RBI, 2 runs) and Matt Smith (3-for-4, run scored) led the attack. Strickler (2-for-4, 2 RBIs, 1 run), Kyle Skeels, 2-for-5, 2B, RBI, 1 run) and Graham (2-for-3, RBI, 1 run) also had multi-hit games.

He had an RBI and run scored. Gular was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Connor Lennon also was 2-for-4 with a run scored for the Indians, who pounded out 14 hits off a trio of PW hurlers.
Austin Eberhart – the fourth Souderton pitcher to see action – earned the win after pitching a scoreless seventh.
The Indians got on the scoreboard first with two runs in the second, but the Colonials answered with four in the top of the third. A bases-clearing double by Zach Metz highlighted the inning.

Central Bucks East 5, Archbishop Ryan 2 (10 innings)
Eric Chase manned right field for the Patriots last season. After his 2015 debut performance on Monday, Chase just might have bought himself some time on the mound.
“He’s an outfielder who we knew could pitch, but we just never had a chance to get him in last year,” East coach Kyle Dennis said. “This was our first opportunity to get him to throw this year because we have six guys or so on our pitching staff, and we’re trying to figure it out right now. This was a great chance to give Eric an opportunity, and he did very well.”
Chase did not allow a hit or run in five-and-one-third innings, walking just two while striking out seven.
“He was very effective for us,” Dennis said. “It was a pleasant surprise.
“We didn’t know what we had in him. He had a nice summer pitching – we knew that. We knew he had decent stuff, but we had never seen it, so we were excited to see that from him.”
The Patriots won the marathon contest with three runs in the top of the 10th when – with the bases loaded – Ryan Ernst delivered a line single over the second baseman that was bobbled briefly in the outfield. All three runs crossed the plate.
“Our runner at first was our leftfielder Cameron Komanchak, and he just flat out flies,” Dennis said. “I just sent him, and it worked out. I guess there was a bobble out there and the throw was off line a little bit.
“We had already secured two runs, and I was rolling the dice there, trying to pick up a third.”
Chase entered the game in relief of Sam Killough, who threw three and two-thirds innings in his first start of the year, allowing three hits and two runs (one earned). He struck out two but walked five. Michael Broderick threw a scoreless 10th inning to earn the save.
Earlier, the Patriots rallied from a 2-0 deficit to knot the score with two runs in the sixth, benefitting from two hit batters, two errors and a walk.
On a day that saw the Patriots collect eight hits, David Yanni had East’s lone extra base hits with a double. Andrew Collins and Ernst both had two hits to lead the Patriots (1-2, 0-1 SOL), who picked up their first win of the young season.
“This definitely helps – anytime you can get a win, no matter who you’re playing, it’s important to get on that winning side of things,” Dennis said. “We have two big games that we’re looking forward to. Hopefully, the weather holds out because we want to keep playing.
“We’re making steps in the right direction these last three games. We just want to keep playing. It’s important to get a couple games under your belt and, hopefully keep going in a positive direction.”
The Patriots return to action on Wednesday when they will travel to North Penn. They will host Hatboro-Horsham on Friday.

Freedom 12, Quakertown 2 (5 innings)
Freedom exploded for seven runs in the first and never looked back on its way to the win in an abbreviated five-inning game. Freedom collected 10 hits off a trio of Quakertown hurlers, benefitting also from six walks – four in the seven-run first.
The Panthers plated their only runs in the top of the second to make it a 7-2 game, but Freedom scored three in the bottom of the frame to maintain control.
The Panthers managed just five hits. Chris Curry, who was 2-for-2 with a run scored, accounted for two of those hits.
Quakertown (1-2, 0-1 SOL) will host Souderton on Tuesday.
