NESHAMINY 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 2 (25-19, 13-25, 25-19, 23-25, 15-11)
The Redskins earned a hard fought win in five sets. Four players finished the game with double-digit kills – Kyle Denis (17 kills, one ace, one block, seven digs), Shaun Kelly (11 kills, one ace, one block, three digs), Tommy Edwards (10 kills, two blocks, one dig) and Joey Verrecchio (10 kills, one ace, two blocks, three digs) all had big games.
Miggy Montalvo (25 assists, three kills) and Dante Benincasa (20 assists, five digs) split the setting duties.
Teddy Krimmel led the ‘Skins defensively with 29 digs to go along with three assists. Skyler Levin (eight digs, one ace), Chad Wiatrowski (four kills, four blocks) and Larry Geisler (one kill, six digs) also made important contributions.
PENNSBURY 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 2 (19-25, 25-21, 25-20, 22-25, 17-15)
The Falcons earned a huge win over a Tennent squad that cracked the state rankings at number 10 this week. Sean Sweeney had a big game for the Falcons, finishing with 16 kills (.361 hitting percentage), one ace, eight digs and one block. Brad Edwards led the defense with 17 digs to go along with four assists and two aces.
Kenny Hickman added eight kills (.500 hitting percentage), two assists, one ace, two digs and one block. Setter Kevin Killoran had 39 assists, two kills, one ace and 10 digs. David Leavey also had a big night, finishing with 14 kills and 10 digs. Mason Reilley added three kills (.375 hitting percentage), four digs and two blocks. Josh Leon had seven kills and 11 digs.
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, BENSALEM 0 (25-8, 25-9, 25-15)
Will Stollsteimer finished with nine kills, two digs and one ace to lead a balanced Rock North attack in its sweep of the Owls. Setter Logan Fuglestad had 17 assists, two digs and one ace. Josh Hinton added six kills, three aces and one dig while Nick Rich had four kills, 2.5 blocks and one ace. Will Desautelle had four kills and three blocks.
Also contributing for the Indians were Sean Lyon (three kills), Jason Yakimiv (one kills, 2.5 blocks), Dalton Abrahamsen (two assists, two digs, one ace), Eric Van Thuyne (two digs, one assist), Robby Ward (one assist, one ace) and Aaron Knotts (one dig). Sean Helmlinger, Tommy Angelina and Tyler Kaplan each had one kill.
Rock North improves to 15-2 overall (9-2 SOL).
PENNRIDGE 3, UPPER DUBLIN 0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-17)
The Rams celebrated Senior Night with a sweep of the visiting Flying Cardinals. All nine seniors contributed to the team win.
Senior setter Bradley Nase had 29 assists and four kills. Brandon Greb (nine kills, four blocks), Max McVaugh (seven kills, nine digs, four aces), Henry Savage (seven kills, three aces, three blocks) and Sam Handy (five kills, 12 digs) all made important contributions at the net. Brian Rosenberg had eight digs and three blocks while Jon Long had two kills and two blocks. Lucas Hefner had 15 digs and Devon Rice added five aces.
The Rams (14-0) will face North Penn on Wednesday.
QUAKERTOWN 3, CHELTENHAM 0 (25-18, 25-9, 27-25)
Dylan Flor (14 kills, two blocks), Coulton Terry (eight kills, four blocks), Mike Dierolf (eight kills) and Lucas Schan (six kills, two blocks) took turns doing damage at the net. Jeff Prusch and Nick Wesley both had seven digs while setter Xavier Villanueva had 33 assists.
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1 (25-20, 26-24, 21-25, 25-19)
Daniel Klapper (21 kills, 14 digs), Will Varner (13 kills, four aces, 19 digs) and Ryan Alu (eight kills, eight digs) had big nights at the net for the Bucks. Setter Matt Douple had 49 assists to go along with three aces and 10 digs. Libero Ben Winderman had 20 digs and two aces, and Adam Phillips had six kills and four blocks.
NORTH PENN 3, SOUDERTON 0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-19)
The Knights celebrated Senior Night with a sweep of the visiting Indians. Setter Mark Elias had 25 assists and four blocks. Steven Landes (seven kills), Connor Sloan (seven kills, eight digs) and Jake Walter (six kills, three blocks) led the Knights at the net. Nick Hood had three digs while Joe Park had a pair of digs. Tim Dickenson had five kills, and Harris Pham had one.
“We played an inspired team on Senior Night at North Penn,” Souderton coach Dave Stastny said. “North Penn controlled the net.
“They have a strong front line, and we had a difficult time hitting past their blocking. When they didn’t block, they had a good defense behind them picking up the hits. We played with passion, but North Penn was better tonight. Give them credit for a well-played match.”
Prior to the match, the Knights recognized seniors Tim Dickenson, Mark Elias, Michael Gallo, Nick Hood, Joe Park, Harris Pham, Connor Sloan and Jake Walter.
