National Conference
PENNSBURY 4, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 0
Pennsbury coach Kaitlin Battiste knows Council Rock North is a tough team. So her message to her team at halftime of Friday night’s game was simple.
“We told them that we knew what North was capable of,” Battiste said. “They’ve been down two goals before and then come back. We told them they had to eliminate any thought or hope in them that they were still in this game. And we came out fired up.”
Lizzie Kirk, a sophomore starting in the middle, connected for a goal in the 17th minute to give Pennsbury a 1-0 lead, but towards the end of the first half, the Indians gained control and got some shots on net.
But the Falcons rose to the occasion in the second half. Still holding a 1-0 lead, junior Riley Rudd took a pass from Jenna Peters to give the Falcons a two-goal advantage in the 43rd minute.
“[Rudd] has been a game-changer for us,” Battiste said. “She never gives up and she’s always working hard.”
Just two minutes later, Rudd found Jadyn Peto to put the Falcons up 3-0. Kelly Amador scored for Pennsbury in the 71st minute with another assist from Rudd.
“The girls had great movement off the ball and they were able to create lanes for themselves tonight,” Battiste added.
It’s a big win for the Falcons in a crowded National Conference. Battiste was impressed with her team’s shutout win.
“The cross-town rivalry always exists. Each time you play North, [Council Rock] South or Neshaminy and people are always getting excited. It was nice to get four goals in against a talented North squad,” she said.
Nany Santiago made six saves in net for Pennsbury. The senior keeper has been strong in the Falcons’ undefeated start as Battiste notes she feels like she has “something to prove.”
The defense has also been strong in front of Santiago. Senior Karina Raykova and junior Rachel Beri have joined newcomers junior Jo Tennant and sophomore Hope Drewes to create a solid backline.
Pennsbury (3-0, 2-0 SOL) will travel to Bensaem on Wednesday, and Council Rock North (1-2, 0-2) will host Truman.

Continental Conference
CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, NORTH PENN 1
Central Bucks East clung to a 1-0 lead over North Penn early in the second half of a back-and-forth game.
Then Emma Loving stepped up.
“She decided it was time and Emma did what Emma can do,” CB East coach Paul Eisold said.
Loving, who put the Patriots up in the first half with a 34th minute goal with an assist from Paige Weiss, got going in the second half to spark CB East.
The junior forward scored again in the 45th minute, assisted by Hannah Zach. She added the magic number three in the 60th minute off a pass from Kate Schlotter to complete the natural hat trick.
“That’s what Emma does. She’s an outstanding player. She figures things out and she doesn’t quit. That put us over the top,” Eisold said.
Sydnee Towns scored in the 70th minute for the Maidens, but it wasn’t enough and the Patriots won, 3-1.
“I think North Penn is a very good team this year,” Eisold said. “They really stepped it up and played us tight, so I give them a lot of credit. They were very well coached and prepared. It took us a while to get going.”
North Penn had exceptional goalie play from Hannah Lambert, who made13 saves in the loss.
“Hannah Lambert kept North Penn in the game throughout but especially in the first half,” Maidens’ coach Jim Dehner said. “Even though Emma Loving had the hat trick, the fight never left North Penn.”
For East, it was Loving who ignited the engine and allowed the Patriots to pull away. Eisold also credits a trio of reserves—Carly Whiton, Jillian Pawelski, and Erin Lutz—for helping the Patriots hold the lead in the second half.
“It’s not just Emma,” he said. “There are 11 players out there on the field. Other players have to step up as well and we had some great players that really stepped up.”
The win wraps up a perfect week for the Patriots, who beat Pennridge in overtime two days earlier. CB East improves to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play. The loss drops North Penn to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in SOL. On Wednesday, CB East will host Hatboro-Horsham, and North Penn will host Quakertown.
Central Bucks East 1 – 2 – 3
North Penn 0 – 1 – 1
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, HATBORO-HORSHAM 0
Central Bucks South stayed hot and took down Continental Conference foe Hatbro-Horsham.
After a scoreless first half, the Titans heated up in the final 40 minutes. In the 50th minute Kylie Walsh found Corinne McDonald, who took the ball around the flank and into the box for the game’s first goal.

PENNRIDGE 5, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 1
It’s not often a coach is so upbeat after a loss. But after Pennridge’s 3-2 overtime defeat at the hands of CB East on Wednesday, Rams coach Audrey Anderson was unusually positive.
Anderson and her team brought that positive energy to their game Friday, and the Rams routed defending state champion Central Bucks West, 5-1.
“We wanted to play like we did against East,” Anderson said. “We came out of that game so confident, so the fact that we were able to play like we did against East in the second half, that was our goal. We don’t expect to score five goals against any team in our conference.”
The Rams struggled to get off to a good start, though. Piper Zimmerman scored in the 24th minute with an assist from Kouri Peace to give Pennridge a 1-0 lead that they took into halftime.
Something clicked for the Rams in the second half. In the 44th minute, Katie Fischer headed in a corner from Dani Meenan. Four minutes later, Jess Milligan scored off an assist from Carissa Manero.
“The first half we were panicked and not confident,” Anderson said. “Once the second half came, we sorted things out and we were able to connect passes, find our forward’s feet, and get in behind CB West’s defense.”
In the 58th minute, Kouri Peace found the back of the net, assisted by Erin Stevenson. Off a quick restart, the Bucks got their only goal of the game from Mary Kate Vinkler from 20 yards out. Meenan added the final Rams goal in the 64th minute.
Pennridge returns most of its team from last year, a team that won a third straight Continental Conference crown. The Rams, however, bowed out in the first round of the District One playoffs. But Anderson believes her team is older and more mature this season.
“Our positivity on Wednesday, that’s the maturity of our team,” she said. “Those sophomores from last year are now juniors and they’re learning each year a little bit more to get to that next level. They always thought they had to win everything. They’ve carried the weight of the conference for the past three years, but they’ve seen that anything can happen. Their goal is to just get better as the season goes on and not focus on having to be perfect all the time.”
The win moves Pennridge to 2-1 overall (1-1 SOL) and CB West drops to 1-2 (1-1 SOL). On Wednesday, Pennridge will be on the road at Central Bucks South while CB West will host Souderton.
Central Bucks West 0 – 1 – 1

Quakertown 0 – 0 – 0
