BENSALEM 21, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0
Led by the three-touchdown performance of Malcolm Carey, the Owls spent the rainy afternoon pounding the football. Bensalem – which evened its record at 3-3 – finished with 246 yards on the ground while Rock South managed just 56 net yards.
The tone might well have been set in the first quarter when the Owls got on the scoreboard with a safety, and their lead grew to 8-0 after one quarter, thanks to a one-yard plunge by Carey. Bensalem tacked on another touchdown in the second quarter. This time Carey took in in from three yards out to send the Owls into halftime with a 14-0 lead.
Carey’s third TD – this one in the third quarter from 36 yards out – put the Owls on top 21-0 after Matt Corbett’s extra point. Carey led the Owls with 112 rushing yards.
If there was a bright spot in the loss for the Golden Hawks, it was the 7-for-10 effort of quarterback Christian Jabbar, who threw for 164 yards. Chase Patterson led the Hawks with 67 yards on the ground.
Bensalem (3-3, 1-2 SOL) will host Neshaminy on Friday, and Council Rock South (1-6, 1-2) will host Pennsbury on Friday.

NORTH PENN 33, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 14
The Patriots found themselves within a touchdown of a powerhouse Knight squad late in the first half, but things went downhill in a hurry after junior Kelly McNamara nailed a 32-yard field goal that gave North Penn a 17-7 advantage with just over two minutes remaining in the first half. The Patriots fumbled the ensuing kickoff, Jason Prince recovered the fumble and took it in for a touchdown that sent the Knights into halftime with a 23-7 lead.
Things were never the same.
North Penn scored 10 unanswered points in the second half on their way to yet another convincing win.
Early on, Reece Udinski – despite being sacked three times in the opening quarter – threw a pair of touchdown passes in the frame. The first was for 27 yards to Justis Henley and the second, a 37-yard TD pass to Jake Hubler. McNamara’s successful PATs spotted the Knights a 14-0 lead.
East used a gadget play to get back into the game when quarterback Matt Szczypiorski hauled in a 19-yard touchdown pass from Chris Lochetta. Barney Amor’s extra point made it a 14-7 game, but that’s as close as the Patriots would get the rest of the way.
Udinski threw for 312 yards and three touchdowns in another big day. Hubler caught three passes for 115 yards and a TD while Nick Dillon had four receptions for 85 yards.
The Patriots managed just 204 yards of total offense – 113 on the ground. Jake Ventresca’s 54 rushing yards led East.
North Penn (7-0, 4-0 SOL) will host Souderton on Friday, and Central Bucks East (5-2, 2-2) will be on the road at Council Rock North for a Saturday night game (7 p.m.).
