SOL National Conference
BENSALEM 10, WILLIAM TENNENT 0 (5 innings)
The Owls put the finishing touches on a dazzling conference season, ignoring the elements to shut out the Panthers in the abbreviated contest.
Dominic Grady allowed just two hits in five shutout innings to earn the win. He struck out eight and walked two in a superb outing.
Take away the Owls’ two losses to Council Rock South, and it’s been just about a perfect season for a squad that captured the program’s first championship in more than two decades.
“The school’s excited, we’re excited, the whole team’s excited,” coach Harry Daut said. “I don’t know if the kids really know what they’ve accomplished, but it’s a great accomplishment.”
In Wednesday’s win, the Owls pounded out 10 hits. Brent Swentkowski was 2-for-4 with a run scored out of the leadoff spot. Keith Parrish was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Jon Revell’s three-run home run highlighted a four-run third inning that gave the Owls a 5-0 lead. Revell finished 1-for-2 with three RBIs and a run. Contributing one RBI each were Ed Aldrich, Nicholas Dean, Stephen Aldrich, Scott Rooney, Greg Janowski, Nickolas Kiesling and Matt Silano, and if ever there was a team win, this was it.
Bensalem (10-2 SOL) closed out a historic regular season with a 16-3 record.

Thank goodness for turf fields.
Without a turf field, it’s a safe bet the Panthers and Colonials would have had a hard time completing Tuesday’s suspended game without the use of PW’s brand new turf field on Thursday.
The Panthers, who led 7-0 when play was halted after four innings, added a run in the sixth to close out the win in a game that began in Quakertown and was completed at PW.
Leading the offensive charge for the Panthers were Sean Brennan (2-for-2, 2B, RBI, run), Dennis Pierce (2-for-3, 2B, RBI, 2 runs), JJ Paul (2-for-3, 2 2B, 3 RBIs, run) and Nolan Byrnes (2-for-3, 2B, RBI, run).
Jacob Nunez’s 2-for-2 effort led the Colonials, who managed just three hits.
Justin Guidos threw four shutout innings on Wednesday to earn the win. He allowed just two hits while striking out eight and walking one. Paul picked up where Guidos left off when play resumed at PW on Wednesday, allowing one hit in three shutout innings. He fanned two and walked three.
Quakertown (12-2 SOL) closed out its regular season with a 14-4 record while Plymouth Whitemarsh (8-6 SOL) was 11-8.
