Five SOL field hockey teams were in action Tuesday. Check out the recaps.
Non-league
UPPER MORELAND 3, HARRY S TRUMAN 1
The Golden Bears – despite controlling play – found themselves on the short end of a 1-0 halftime score. Sparked by the play of Claudia Zanine, they answered with three second-half goals to earn the non-league win.
Paige Gonzales turned a Grace Pool assist into a goal just over nine minutes into the opening half to spot the Tigers a 1-0 lead. Zanine scored an unassisted goal at the 26:25 mark of the second half to knot the score and followed that with the game winner six minutes later – again unassisted. Bryanna Gordon added an insurance goal with an assist from Zanine for the 3-1 final.
UM goalie Isabella Guarenghi recorded one save in the win while Truman’s keeper had 16.
Upper Moreland (3-4, 1-2 SOL) will travel to Plymouth Whitemarsh on Thursday, and Harry S Truman (1-5, 0-4) will host Pennsbury on Thursday.
