HATBORO-HORSHAM 2, UPPER MORELAND 0
The Hatters snapped a streak of five straight losses to the Golden Bears, connecting on a pair of second-half goals to earn the win.
“We’re coming along and growing together as a team,” coach Dipi Bhaya said. “It’s a lot of work. I give them credit for learning a new style of play, I give them credit for trying to adjust with my expectations. They’re a good group, but it’s a transition for them. It’s interesting to watch them grow right in front of your eyes.”
Jada Mills put the Hatters on the board with a goal at the 20:49 mark of the second half. With just under four minutes remaining, Audrey Leibfried scored with an assist from Katie Schmidt for the 2-0 final.
“We had 10 corners in the first half,” Bhaya said. “We set goals every game, we set goals every half. I try to give them something to shoot for, not just a ‘W.’ One of our goals was to get corners and we did. We had our opportunities.
“It was kind of like yesterday when we played Central Bucks South. We were 0-0 at the half with them, and they scored two goals in the second half. Today we were on the winning side of the 2-0 second half, which was nice.”
Bhaya lauded the strong play of several players in the win.
“Sorrell Long plays in the midfield, and she helps set up our team and handles both the offensive and defensive end,” the Hatters’ coach said. “Jada Mills really works hard. She finishes, she carries the ball well. She relocated to the area this year, and we were very lucky to get her for her senior year to play for us.
UM goalie Isabella Guarenghi kept her team in it with 20 saves.
“Their goalie did a nice job for them,” Bhaya said. “We’re excited because we have two wins in the conference, but we’ve got some challenging games coming up.
Hatboro-Horsham (2-3, 2-1 SOL) will travel to Springfield Township on Thursday, and Upper Moreland (2-2, 1-1) will be on the road at Abington on Friday.

WISSAHICKON 1, SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP 0
Grace Bell – using a pass from teammate Lauren Donofrio – scored a goal to put the Trojans on the scoreboard with 12:24 remaining in the first half. They had plenty of opportunities to add to that lead but could not capitalize and held on to win by that 1-0 score.
“We just could not put it in the cage,” Wissahickon coach Lucy Gil said. “We were in their bottom 25 80-85 percent of the game. We took shot after shot.
“We couldn’t get our corners off correctly. It was one of those games where it wasn’t clicking for us. We were lucky to come out with a win because one goal is not enough.”
The Trojans held a decisive 23-4 advantage in shots and an equally lopsided 16-3 edge in penalty corners.
Gil credited the consistent play of Ball, who is committed to Appalachian State, and Central Michigan-bound Hannah Havrilla.
“When they’re on the field, they’re leaders out there, and we’ll win and die with them because if they’re up and managing the team, they can bring the whole team with them,” the Trojans’ coach said. “They’re both really, really strong players, they never give up on the ball.”
Springfield Township goalie Rebecca Berglund kept her team in it with 18 saves.
“Springfield Township was a bit on their heels today, but it was a solid day in the goal by Rebecca Berglund,” assistant coach Anita Stum said. “Lauren Corrado, Kate Wojeck and Any Kochanowicz offered defensive effort to keep the game 1-0. Wissahickon was very organized and played a very disciplined game today.”
Wissahickon goalie Meghan Reilly was forced to make just three saves in the shutout win.
Wissahickon (2-1-1, 2-1 SOL) will host Cheltenham on Thursday, and Springfield Township (2-2, 1-2) will host Hatboro-Horsham on Thursday.
Springfield Township 0-0 0

UPPER DUBLIN 2, ABINGTON 2 (OT)
The Ghosts opened up a 2-1 halftime lead, but the Flying Cardinals rallied to knot the score, and overtime could not determine a winner.
Julia Reardon opened the scoring midway through the first half with an assist from Allie Rock. Devon DMaria evened the score with 1:32 remaining in the half, and the Ghosts weren’t satisfied. Forty-two seconds later, Ally Campbell scored to send Abington into halftime with a 2-1 advantage.
With only 5:40 remaining in regulation, Rock (Maise Hanson assist) connected on the equalizer. It marked the end of the scoring for both squads.
UD goalie Rhianna Gonzales was credited with eight saves. Annabel Coplan also recorded a stick save for the Cardinals in the second half. Abington’a Marilyn Capps recorded six saves in goal.
Abington held a 10-8 advantage in shots while Upper Dublin had a 6-4 edge in corners.
Upper Dublin (2-1-1, 1-1-1 SOL) will host Upper Moreland on Saturday at 10 a.m. for its 11th Annual Corners for Cancer (a Play for the Cure game). Abington (0-2-1, 0-1-1) will host Plymouth Whitemarsh on Thursday.
Upper Dublin 1-1-0 2

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 13, CHELTENHAM 0
Ava Borkowski scored four goals and Alexis Minor added a hat trick to lead the Colonials to the decisive win.
“PW played a strong attacking game today with 10 different players contributing to the goal-scoring effort,” coach Charise Halteman said.
Kaleigh Missimer, Molly Lynch, Hailey Copestick, Livia Truong, Autumn Luptak and Alexa DeLucca each added a single goal. Missimer and Lynch both contributed an assist. Kayla Link and Julia Roehm also each had one assist.
Cheltenham goalie Dylan Miller turned away more than 35 shots in a busy afternoon.
PW’s Sarah Trask earned her first shutout of the season in goal with two saves.
Plymouth Whitemarsh (3-0 SOL) will travel to Abington Thursday, and Cheltenham (0-3) will be on the road at Wissahickon.

PENNRIDGE 2, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 0
The Rams took advantage of their offensive opportunities, and goalie Maia Machado turned away all seven shots she faced. It added up to the Rams’ fourth win in as many outings.
Emily Amsden connected on a reverse stick goal 3:15 into the game. The Rams clung to that lead until midway through the second half when Payton Muth turned a Macy Price pass into a goal and the 2-0 final.
“What a fun team win,” Pennridge coach Becky Spahr said. “Getting an early goal built our confidence, but West didn’t give up and challenged our defense throughout the game.
“Our defense was backed by freshman goalkeeper Maiai Machado, who was solid and turned away seven shots on goal. Our attack did a great job moving into space and took advantage of our scoring opportunities. Our midfield tied everything together and distributed the ball extremely well. All of our attacking opportunities started with great midfield play.”
Despite the outcome, West coach Ginny Moore liked what she saw out of her squad.
“CB West maintained possession for a majority of the game and had more offensive opportunities and shots than our last three games combined,” the Bucks’ coach said. “Unfortunately, the score did not match the intensity with which the Bucks played.
“Pennridge executed on their breakaways and long through passes. Bryn Spoerl had two solid breakaways on (West’s) forward line.”
Pennridge (4-0, 2-0 SOL) will be on the road at Central Bucks South on Thursday, and Central Bucks West (0-4, 0-3) will travel to Gwynedd Mercy Academy for a non-league game Wednesday.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, NORTH PENN 0
Phia Mannino attained a personal milestone in Monday’s non-league win over Council Rock South, reaching the 100-point plateau when she scored her second of two goals.
“It really is a big accomplishment, especially as a junior,” East coach Meghann Spratt said. “I’m so proud of her. She’s a threat, but she’s definitely a team player. Being able to distribute and score is one of the reasons she did it as early as she did.”
Mannino – who celebrated the accomplishments with her teammates Tuesday – had a hand in two goals in the Patriots’ most recent win. She assisted on a goal by Grace Melloy that broke a scoreless tie with 9:33 remaining in the first half. Mannino scored an unassisted goal six minutes later to send the Patriots into halftime with a 2-0 lead.
Allison Gallant scored the lone goal of the second half, using a Kenzie Lever assist.
“I thought we came out flat, and North Penn had their runs,” Spratt said. “They ‘re speedy.
“I thought Erin O’Donnell as well as Eleni Kountroubis really held their front line. I gave my backs a heads up that they’re very speedy, and they came out and proved to be so. We had to regroup, and we started playing our passing game and got control of the game midway through the first half and pretty much kept control going into the second half.”
East’s Emily Bullard recorded nine saves in the shutout win and was once again rock solid in goal.
Mallory Stowell kept the Knights in the game, turning away 11 shot in a strong outing in goal. Megan Albert was credited with a defensive save for the Knights.
“Mallory Stowell and the defense, led by center back Megan Albert, played well against a dynamic and fast CB East attack,” North Penn coach Shannon McCracken said. “The Knights are continuing to gel and improve as a young team as four sophomores started in the league contest.”
Central Bucks East (5-1, 3-0 SOL) will host Souderton in a key conference battle on Thursday (3:15 p.m.). North Penn will travel to Quakertown on Thursday for a 7 p.m. game.

SOUDERTON 8, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 2
The visiting Titans took a 1-0 lead when Julia Cooper turned an Alyssa Endrick assist into a goal. Falling behind was apparently a wake-up call to Courtney Kenah, who scored her first of four goals two minutes later. Before halftime, she added another goal and assisted on an Autumn Hunter goal to put the Indians on top 3-1, and she wasn’t finished yet.
Kenah – who led the Indians with four goals and two assists – scored back-to-back goals to give the Indians a 5-1 lead midway through the second half. Anna Gwiazdzinski connected on an unassisted goal, and Kate Martin turned a Kenah pass into a goal, capping a four-minute spin that saw the Indians put three goals on the scoreboard.
Cooper (Maddy Connell assist) found the cage with her second goal of the game for the Titans, and Gwiazdzinski (Reily Knize assist) connected to close out the scoring.
“A young CB South team could not keep up with the speed, stick work and firepower of a strong and well-coached Souderton team,” South coach Pat Toner said. “While it is a very disappointing loss, it is an opportunity to make corrections and learn from our mistakes.
“I consider myself blessed to be able to continue to coach and will push this group to their full potential.
The Indians held a 20-9 advantage in shots and an 11-3 edge in corners.
South goalie Jillian Heilig recorded nine saves. South’s Maddy Cooper was credited with a defensive save. Souderton’s Jordan Michalak had six saves in goal.
Souderton (5-0, 3-0 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks East on Thursday, and Central Bucks South (3-3, 1-2) will host Pennridge on Thursday.

PENNSBURY 4, BENSALEM 1
Pennsbury’s field hockey story continues and now includes the first tally in the win column.
“It did not come so easily as Bensalem arrived pumped and ready to play the game from the moment they stepped off of the bus,” Pennsbury coach Traci Curtis said. “The Falcons, on the other hand, stepped onto the field a bit sleepy and a little out of sorts. It was a back and forth game, with Bensalem dominating and denying goals with strength and determination. They played some great hockey and should be proud of their performance for sure.”
The Falcons had many opportunities, including twelve penalty corners, but did not score their first goal until – with nine minutes remaining – Cammie Stuhlmuller tipped it in the cage off of an assist from Maddie Spratt. Bensalem did not let down and answered with a goal on a corner with six minutes remaining until the half. The teams entered the break tied 1-1.
The Owls continued to deny the Falcons until Kayli Williams assisted on a Maddie Spratt goal midway through the second half to put the Falcons on top 2-1.
“And then the game changed a bit,” Curtis said. “Pennsbury found their groove on some great sparks of inspiration from Liz Jordan, Nicole Joniak, Celia Dolan, Jaclyn Gorgo, and Kayli Williams.”
With five minutes remaining, Maddie Spratt scored her second goal (unassisted) of the game, making it 3-1, and Celia Dolan added another with only three minutes left for the final score of 4-1.
“Goalies, Keira Korzeb and Haley Derr, put in a great combined effort to protect the win and prove to be a consistent strength in the cage,” Curtis said. “Despite the slow start and a little haphazard performance in the first half, the girls found a way to rise above, connect, and finish the game with great force.
“Everyone contributed across positions and grade levels and the final moments of the game were an awesome visual of what it looks like to fit the pieces together. Each day is new and every game carries with it many lessons to take away and apply on and off the field.”
The Falcons (1-3, 1-1 SOL) will continue a four game week on Thursday when they host William Tennent and begin a long stretch of traveling,
“There is so much more hockey yet to play,” Curtis said.
Bensalem (0-4, 0-3) will be on the road at Council Rock South Thursday.
Bensalem 1-0 1
Pennsbury 1-3 4
NESHAMINY 8, HARRY S TRUMAN 0
Peyton Ritchey had a hand in five goals, scoring a pair and assisting on three others to lead the Redskins. Jamie Pennington added two goals and one assist.
Ritchey set up a goal by sophomore Sanaa Hebron, and back-to-back goals by Ritchey – the first with a Madi Neiman assist – put the Redskins on top 3-0 just over five minutes into the game.
Shama Patel connected on an unassisted goal 12 minutes into the game. The Redskins did not score again until seven minutes remained in the half when Brooke Cordisco turned a pass from Asia Barnard into a goal. Brielle Ames added a goal at the buzzer, using an assist from Pennington to send the Redskins into halftime with a 6-0 lead.
Pennington connected on a pair of second-half goals – both with assists from Ritchey – for the 8-0 final.
Freshman Stacy Couillard turned in a standout effort in goal for the Tigers in goal.
“She played great,” Neshaminy coach Jamie Pennington said. “She made some really tough saves and played hard the whole game.”
Neshaminy (3-2, 3-0 SOL) will host Council Rock North on Thursday, and Harry S Truman (0-4, 0-3) will host Norristown in a non-league game Thursday.

WILLIAM TENNENT 2, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 1
Karly Adkins scored an unassisted goal 10 minutes into the second half, breaking a 1-1 tie and propelling the Panthers to the big win.
“Our win against Council Rock North was a true testament of how hard our team is working in and out of practice,” first-year coach Julia Cummiskey said. “They put their hearts on the field Tuesday, and it definitely showed what kind of team they are this year after coming back from being down and winning the game.”
The Indians took a 1-0 lead 10 minutes into the game when Lindsey O’Brien connected during corner play. Carly Pritchett turned a Kirsten Scott pass into the equalizer 10 minutes later, sending the two teams into halftime deadlocked 1-1.
The Panthers – who had just one corner to 10 for the Indians – capitalized on their opportunities.
Tennent goalie Sophia Trozzi recorded 12 saves.
