SOL American
Upper Dublin 14, Lower Moreland 4 (5 innings)
The Flying Cardinals scored early and often, blowing the game open with a nine-run second. The win in the abbreviated contest was the fifth straight for the suddenly streaking Cards.
Nick Lombardo’s 2-for-2 day at the plate with a double, triple and four RBIs led the Cardinals’ attack.
It was Lombardo driving in the game’s first run with a triple to center in the bottom of the first that plated Kyle Rizzo, who led off the inning with a double.
In the nine-run second, the Cardinals benefitted from six free passes. Lombardo and Tristan Cairnes both had two-run doubles in the inning. David Sharp and Justin Richman (RBI) also doubled. Tyler Lizell had an RBI single in an inning that gave the Cardinals an 11-0 lead.
The Lions – who plated all of their runs in the third – were led by the two-hit effort of Bryce Fazio, who drove in a pair of runs. Aidan Ricciardi and Matt Dymowski each contributed one RBI.
Sharp started and notch the win for the Cards.
Upper Dublin (5-7, 0-5 SOL) will travel to Cheltenham on Friday, and Lower Moreland (3-7, 2-3) will host Quakertown Friday.
