The Indians opened their season with an impressive shutout win over the visiting Crusaders. Ty Quintois found the net in the eighth minute with a goal that turned out to be the game-winner, using assists from Dillon Barbieri and Nolan Hughes. That 1-0 lead stood until halftime.
In the 47th minute, Barbieri turned a Thomas Smith pass into an insurance goal, and three minutes later, Joe Sirchia scored with a Quintois assist to close out the scoring.
Coach Matt Benner was pleased with his team’s effort.
“A team defensive effort limited chances for LC,” the Indians’ coach said. “Ty Quintois and Dillon Barbieri had very good days. They both made some quality final passes and capped off good team passing on their goals.
“Also, I was pleased to see Joe Sirchia record his first varsity goal.”
Quintois and Barbieri both finished the game with a goal and assist to lead the Indians.
Souderton (1-0) will travel to Central Bucks South for Thursday’s SOL opener.

Regulation and two overtimes could not determine a winner in Tuesday’s non-league contest.
“It was a great team effort,” Bensalem coach Rob Brown said. “The defense played great and kept it 0-0. My keeper, Zach Lentchner, played awesome.
“We scored one in regulation that they said never went in, but it was close.”
All of the Owls saw action on Tuesday, although they were minus a key player who was suspended for a controversial red card at the end of Saturday’s non-league game against Archbishop Ryan.
Bensalem (0-1-1) will travel to Pennsbury for Thursday’s SOL opener.

LANSDALE CATHOLIC 6, SOUDERTON 3
The Indians scored three goals – enough to win on most days – only to watch the Crusaders score six. A bright spot in the loss was the two-goal effort of senior captain Avery Nogami. Sophomore Liv Beresovoy also scored a goal.
“Souderton started a little flat and went down 1-0 early in the match,” Souderton coach Ian Smith said. “We were able to respond well and get up 2-1 about 10 minutes later. After that, the game fell a bit off the tracks and slipped away from us, as we had a rusty start with our first game of the season. A few defensive errors left the Lansdale Catholic attacking players some space to create and fire home a few shots relatively uncontested.
“The team had a few moments of brightness, with captains Maggie Fisher (junior) and Avery Nogami (senior) working to shore up the middle of the field late in the second half. Nogami could have had a hat trick or more off converted set pieces and crosses, but a number of her efforts sailed just wide or over the bar. After falling to the three-goal deficit with ten minutes to play, we couldn’t mount a response to get the game back.”
Souderton (0-1) will host Central Bucks South in Thursday’s league opener.
