QUAKERTOWN 42, UPPER PERKIOMEN 38
Sparked by the 18-point effort of Sam Wilkin, the Panthers notched their first win of the young season on Saturday.
The Panthers trailed 8-5 after one quarter with Wilkin accounting for all five of their points. Ty Wilkin buried a pair of 3-pointers in a second quarter that saw the Panthers outscore the Indians 10-7 to knot the score 15-15 at halftime. Sam Wilkin had nine points in the frame as the duo combined for all of their team’s points.
Behind seven points from Sam Wilkin, the Panthers held an 11-6 edge in the third quarter and headed into the final frame with a 26-21 advantage. The Panthers – led by Brendon Ruzicka’s eight points – scored 16 points in the fourth quarter to earn the hard-fought win.
Sam Wilkin led the Panthers with 18 points, which included a 3-pointer and an 11-for-14 effort at the foul line. Ty Wilkin added 12 points, and Ruzicka had eight.
Upper Perk was led by Kyle Clancy and Adam Shaar with 11 points each.
Quakertown (1-4, 0-2 SOL) will travel to Wissahickon on Tuesday.

NOTRE DAME 42, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 40
The Indians suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday, coming up just short in their non-league battle with Notre Dame.
The Indians, who led 12-6 after one quarter, took an 18-16 lead into halftime. They trailed by one entering the final quarter, 27-26, and despite 10 fourth-quarter points from Bernie Parent, they could not get over the hump.
Parent’s 16-point effort led the Indians. Logan Saifer added 10 points.
Council Rock North (4-1, 2-0 SOL) will travel to Bensalem on Monday.

METHACTON 59, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 50
On Friday night, the Colonials suffered through a tough shooting night but still found a way to defeat Hatboro-Horsham. Those shooting woes continued in the first half of Saturday’s non-league game, and they managed just 14 points and trailed the visiting Warriors 34-14.
Although they rebounded to turn in a strong offensive second half – erupting for 36 points and outscoring the Warriors by 11, they could not make up the ground they lost in the first half.
Jaden Colzie and Qudire Bennett led the Colonials with 17 points each. Colzie connected on three 3-pointers and was a perfect 6-for-6 at the foul line. He scored 12 of his points after the intermission. Bennett had a pair of 3’s. His seven points led the Colonials in the first half. No other PW player had more than five points.
Plymouth Whitemarsh (3-1, 2-0 SOL) will host Upper Dublin on Tuesday.

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 54, NEW FOUNDATIONS CHARTER 40
Gavin Holloran and Shane Dawson combined for 34 points to lead the Golden Hawks to the non-league win. Holloran’s 18 points led the Hawks while Dawson added 16.
Council Rock South (2-2, 0-2 SOL) will host Pennsbury on Monday.
FATHER JUDGE 63, BENSALEM 59
Bensalem gave Father Judge all it could handle at Saturday’s Diane Mosco Foundation Shootout, trailing by just two late. The Owls’ shot for the tie came up short, and they were forced to foul. Jalen Flowers buried both foul shots for the Crusaders to seal the Owls’ fate.
The Owls, who trailed 32-27 at halftime, outscored the Crusaders 20-13 in the third quarter and took a 47-45 lead into the final frame. They were in it until the end but came up just short.
Aaron Sanders scored a team high 16 points, which included a pair of 3-pointers. Allen Myers contributed 14 points, and Jeremy Rodriguez – who also had a pair of 3’s – added 10 points. Jake Wineburg had two treys for six points in a contest that saw the Owls connect on eight 3-pointers.
Bensalem (2-2, 1-1 SOL) will host Council Rock South on Monday.
