MEN’S BASKETBALL
Junior Khalif Wyatt (Norristown) scored 11 of his career-high 28 points in the final three-plus minutes in Temple’s 87-77 loss to Dayton on Saturday. The loss ended Temple’s 25-game home win streak at the Liacouras Center.
Senior Dan DelConte (Wissahickon) scored 10 points in Gwynedd-Mercy’s 64-62 loss to Elizabethtown on Wednesday.
Connor Poston (Hatboro-Horsham) scored four points in Gettysburg’s 84-82 overtime loss to Washington College on Saturday.
Lorenzo Christmas (Norristown) scored seven points in Bloomsburg’s 87-85 come-from-behind win over Clarion University on Saturday.
Guard Jim Connolly (Souderton) scored a season-best 35 points to lead Philadelphia University to its fifth straight win, an 86-75 victory over Post University on Saturday. Connolly, who was just two points away from tying his career-high (37 points against Concordia on Jan. 29, 2011), shot 11-of-17 from the field and 8-of-9 from the free throw line. In Tuesday’s 68-65 win over Holy Family, Connolly scored nine points. Nick Christian (Bensalem) contributed nine rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Sophomore forward C.J. Aiken (Plymouth Whitemarsh) tied his career high with nine blocks to go along with 15 points in St. Joseph’s 84-82 win over Duquesne on Wednesday. Justin Van Houten (Central Bucks East) contributed 11 points and six rebounds in Penn State Altoona’s 72-66 loss to Hilbert College on Sunday afternoon.
Freshman guard Whis Grant (Plymouth Whitemarsh) contributed 19 points, four rebounds and four assists in East Stroudsburg’s 90-84 loss to Edinboro on Saturday. In Friday’s 94-51 win over Lock Haven, Grant scored 13 points.
Sophomore guard Kenny Gula (Quakertown) scored 10 points in Moravian’s 76-71 loss to Albright in the championship game of the 34th Annual Greyhound Starters Classic on Tuesday. In Monday’s opening round 70-63 win over SUNY Old Westbury, Gula had six points.
Sophomore point guard Jesse Krasna (Pennsbury) scored 12 points in Ursinus College’s 71-55 win over Johns Hopkins on Saturday.
Mike Marvin (Hatboro-Horsham) contributed 28 points and 11 rebounds in Penn State Abington’s 84-83 loss to Immaculata in the consolation game of the Louis Fleming Basinger Memorial Tournament on Tuesday. Marvin was named to the all-tournament team. In Monday’s 106-73 opening round loss to Lycoming, Marvin was held to eight points. Teammate Josh Howard (Bensalem) had 10 points.
Marvin was named ECAC South Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 3. He scored 24 points in an upset over York College and then scored 23 points against undefeated Hartwick (NY) in a championship game loss. He had 28 points against Immaculata. He also had 45 rebounds in that span.
Sophomore AJ Picard (Souderton) scored 19 points in Goldey-Beacom’s 79-75 overtime win over Wilmington University on Wednesday. In Saturday’s 61-60 loss to Felician, Picard contributed 16 points.
Junior forward Goran Dulac (Pennsbury) contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds in #14 Cabrini College’s 87-81 win over Immaculata on Saturday. Cabrini remained unbeaten in CSAC play at 6-0, improving to 11-1 on the season. In Wednesday’s 83-66 win over York College, Dulac contributed 17 points and eight rebounds.
Nick Reisig (Council Rock North) scored eight points and handed out four assists in King's College's 82-80 upset of previously undefeated Lycoming on Saturday.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Sophomore guard Brittany Sandone (Souderton) scored nine points, all in the second half, in Cabrini’s 47-41 loss to Immaculata. In Tuesday’s 67-38 win over Susquehanna, Sandone contributed 22 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field and 7-of-10 from the free throw line. She also had five assists and eight rebounds.
Sarah Kiely (Council Rock North) scored 14 points in American University’s 60-49 win over George Washington on Monday. Her 14 points, which came on 7-of-13 shooting, matched her career high. She also added five rebounds.
Gabrielle Benedict (Central Bucks West), who is coming off a remarkable season as the goalkeeper for the NEAC Tournament Champion women’s soccer team, leads the Penn State Abington women’s basketball team with 45 rebounds.
Junior Shakia Robinson (North Penn) scored 14 points in the University of Massachusett’s 86-58 loss to St. Joseph’s on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 68-47 loss to Harvard, Robinson scored 17 points. Twelve of her points came after the intermission. She also added five rebounds and four steals.
Sam Simononis (Pennridge) scored 10 points in Vermont’s 61-60 loss to Boston University on Wednesday. In Vermont’s 68-59 loss to La Salle at the Dartmouth Blue Sky Classic, Simononis scored a career-high 14 points.
Senior guard Alli Rosati (Central Bucks East) scored 10 points in Ursinus College’s 66-61 loss to Johns Hopkins on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 68-54 win over McDaniel College, Rosati scored 15 points.
Calla Miller (Central Bucks South) scored nine points in Haverford’s 60-48 win over Albright College on Saturday. On Thursday, Miller had 10 points in Haverford’s 66-65 win over Gettysburg. The Fords’ victory was the first in 25 consecutive tries against the Bullets.
Ashley Rosario (Harry S Truman) scored 15 points in Goldey-Beacom’s 88-52 win over Georgian Court College. In Tuesday’s 59-42 win over Wilmington University, Rosario had 11 points and five assists.
Mashira Newman (Upper Dublin) scored 13 points while teammate Sophia Waters (Norristown) added 10 points in Millersville’s 86-69 overtime loss to California (Pa.) on Saturday.
Colleen Hinde (Wissahickon) scored 11 points in Neumann University’s 73-43 loss to Messiah College last Monday.
Redshirt freshman center Emily Leer (Abington) scored 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting and a 4-of-5 effort from behind the arc in Villanova’s 61-56 loss to West Virginia on Saturday.

Brittany Kaewell (Central Bucks South) contributed 13 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals in Penn State Altoona’s 66-60 win over Pitt-Bradford on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Brynn Cotteta (Norristown) scored 19 points while teammate Jordan Dominic (Pennridge) added 14 points in Gwynedd-Mercy’s 83-69 win over Rosemont on Saturday. The duo combined to hit on six of their team’s seven three-pointers on the day. In Tuesday’s 64-63 win over Southeastern, Cotteta scored 10 points. On Monday, Cotteta contributed 13 points, six assists and five rebounds in Gwynedd’s 62-59 loss to Oneonta State.
Julie Hahn (Central Bucks South) scored 14 points in Alvernia’s 65-57 win over Stevenson on Saturday.
Shannon Barlow (Neshaminy) contributed six points, six rebounds and five steals in Delaware Valley’s 59-24 win over Medgar Evers College in the consolation game of the 11th annual Starters Moravian Winter Classic on Tuesday. In Monday’s 49-38 loss to Albany College in an opening round game, Barlow finished with seven points and 13 rebounds.
Heather McHugh (Norristown) contributed nine points, six rebounds and five assists in Lock Haven’s 76-66 win over Kutztown on Saturday. Teammate Kelsey Ryan (Neshaminy) scored eight points and grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds. In Friday’s 60-59 loss to East Stroudsburg, McHugh had 10 points, four assists, three rebounds, two steals and a block.
MEN’S SWIMMING
Bloomsburg’s Mark DiLemmo (Central Bucks East) finished second in the D2 400 free with a time of 4:51.83 on Friday at the Bob Mowerson Meet in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Brendan Malone (Hatboro-Horsham) finished fifth in the D2 50 butterfly with a time of 30.93. In the D2 50 breaststroke, Jeremy Frey (Central Bucks East) finished third with a time of 34.01 while Tim Dorsch (Souderton) was fourth with a time of 34.54 and teammate Nick Ortlieb (North Penn) was sixth with a time of 34.76. The Huskies took second in the combined scoring for the event, finishing just behind Division I Cleveland State. In the men’s division, the Huskies were fifth. Nineteen teams competed.
Calvin Starosta (Upper Dublin) was part of West Chester’s second place 200 medley relay that finished second with a time of 1:57.8 at the third annual North Palm Beach Country Club Relays on Saturday.
Freshman Jake Meyers (Council Rock North) was part of the winning 400 free relay (3:22.54) in Washington & Jefferson’s 156-116 win over Saint Vincent College on Saturday. Senior CJ Corcoran (Souderton) was part of the winning 200 medley relay that finished with a time of 1:53.72.
WOMEN’S SWIMMING
Freshman Melanie Busch (William Tennent) finished first in the 100 back with a time of 57.87 in Maryland’s 187-111 win over Towson on Saturday. Teammate Megan Lafferty (Upper Dublin) had a pair of individual first place finishes, winning the 50 free (23.88) and 100 fly (55.98). She also was part of the winning 200 medley relay team that finished with a time of 1:45.86.
Bloomsburg’s Julie DeVincent (Upper Dublin) finished second in the D2 100 free with a time of 1:04.26 at the Bob Mowerson Meet in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Melanie Redican (Upper Dublin) finished sixth in the D2 50 butterfly with a time of 32.43. Kelly Duggan (Central Bucks West) finished ninth in the D2 50 breaststroke with a time of 39.57. The Huskies took second in the combined scoring for the event, finishing just behind Division I Cleveland State. In the women’s division, the Huskies also finished second.
Jess Healy (Hatboro-Horsham) was part of West Chester’s fourth place 200 medley relay with a time of 2:24.7 at the third annual North Palm Beach Relays in North Palm Beach, Fla., on Saturday. She also was part of the 200 free relay that finished fifth with a time of 2:08.6.
Junior Paige Whitmire (Souderton) was part of Penn State’s first place 400 medley relay that finished with a time of 3:48 at a non-scored dual meet against North Carolina in winter training competition in Naples, Fla. She also was part of the 200 freestyle relay that finished first.
Alexis Alexander (Neshaminy) finished third in the 200 free with a time of 2:16.07 in Messiah’s win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday. Alexander also finished third in the 100 free with a time of 1:02.31. She was part of Messiah’s winning 400 free relay that finished with a time of 4:11.59.
WRESTLING
Shippensburg sophomore John Lindquist (Neshaminy) won a pair of bouts at 165 at the 2012 Wolfpack Duals hosted by N.C. State, picking up a 12-4 major decision over George Mason’s Matt Huffstickler and a pin in 5:24 over Andersons’ Dalton Harper.
Freshman Richard Jasinski (Pennridge) collected a pin in Ursinus College’s 50-0 win over Scranton at Saturday’s North/South Duals. He also had a pin in the Bears’ 26-12 win over Trinity (Conn.) and had a pin in Ursinus College’s 43-0 win over Coast Guard.
