BASEBALL
Chestnut Hill senior Joseph Mullin (Central Bucks South) and sophomores Patrick Campion (Norristown) and Zachary Crim (Hatboro-Horsham) achieved a 3.5 grade point average or better during the 2013 fall semester to receive recognition on the Athletics Academic Honor Roll.
Kutztown junior Brandon Martinez (North Penn) was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. To be eligible, juniors must have completed at least 72 credit hours and rank scholastically in the top 7.5 percent of their class. Founded in 1897, Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest, largest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. It is a global network comprised of the best and brightest from all academic disciplines.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Freshman Josh Johnson (Norristown) scored a career-high 23 points in Kutztown’s 94-89 loss to Millersville on Saturday. The first-year forward went 10-for-13 from the field, including a rim-rattling alley-oop dunk in the opening minutes. He sank all his free throw attempts and was second on the team with seven boards and registered two assists, a block and a steal. In Wednesday’s 68-65 win over Cheyney, sophomore Ryan Connolly (Souderton) hit a game-winning three-pointer with 46.3 seconds left. He finished the game with seven points and six rebounds. Johnson scored 10 of his 11 points in the first half and did not have a shot attempt in the second half after shooting 5-for-5 in the first half. He grabbed nine rebounds and had two blocks.
Senior Lorenzo Christmas (Norristown) wrote his name in Bloomsburg’s record book on Wednesday by taking over the school record for career three-pointers, knocking down his 226th shot from beyond the arc as part of a dominating 94-67 win over Goldey-Beacom. Christmas led the Huskies with 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting that included 5-of-7 from beyond the arc. The senior guard also added five assists. He has a team-high 60 three’s on the season, just shy of his personal season record of 63 set last year.
Tim Abruzzo (Pennridge) and Mike Brown (Hatboro-Horsham) both saw minutes off the bench in Navy’s 79-57 win over Army last Saturday. Abruzzo connected on a three-pointer and also had a rebound and a steal.
Sean Brooks (North Penn) contributed 14 points, two rebounds and two assists in Washington College’s 89-76 loss to Ursinus College on Saturday. Teammate Dave Knox (Central Bucks South) had eight points and nine rebounds. In Wednesday’s 86-80 loss to Haverford, Knox had 13 points and four rebounds while Brooks had 11 points, three rebounds and two assists.
Wesley Brooks (North Penn) was credited with five assists in McDaniel’s 53-48 win over Swarthmore on Saturday.
Freshman Keelan Adams (Neshaminy) made his first career start in Shippensburg’s 75-57 loss to No. 6 East Stroudsburg on Wednesday, contributing two points, two assists and a career-high seven rebounds.
Junior Travis Bryan (Hatboro-Horsham) contributed six points, seven rebounds and four blocked shots in DeSales University’s 78-74 overtime win over FDU-Florham on Saturday. Teammate Michael Guldin (Pennridge) added six points, four rebounds and three steals. In Wednesday’s 87-78 win at Manhattanville, Guldin had nine points while Bryan had eight points, 11 rebounds and two blocks.
Senior point guard Jesse Krasna (Pennsbury) had 13 points, four assists and three rebounds in Ursinus College’s 89-76 win over Washington College on Saturday. Teammate Mark Wonderling (Souderton) added eight points, six rebounds and three assists. In Wednesday’s 61-56 win over Franklin & Marshall, Krasna scored a team-high 18 points and also handed out five assists.
Mike Marvin (Hatboro-Horsham) picked up another double-double in Penn State Abington’s 94-84 win in quadruple overtime over Gallaudet on Saturday, contributing 13 points and 13 rebounds. In Tuesday’s 95-94 win at Penn State Berks, Marvin had 16 points and 12 rebounds. Teammate Alex Agyedu (Bensalem) contributed six points off the bench.
Senior guard Chris Davis (Norristown) had eight assists in Alvernia’s 87-83 loss to Widener, pull within 19 of breaking the single season record at Alvernia. In Wednesday’s 78-63 win over Arcadia, Davis handed out 17 assists, breaking the program’s single game assist record just one game after becoming Alvernia’s career assist lead.
Senior post Brett Roseboro (Quakertown) hit all four of his field goals attempts and scored eight points in 17 minutes in UMBC’s 76-52 loss to Vermont on Saturday.
Junior Marcus Badger (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored 10 points in Randolph-Macon’s 73-68 loss to Eastern Mennonite on Tuesday.
Zach Sibel (Pennsbury) came off the bench to score 11 points in Delaware Valley’s 92-77 win over Misericordia on Saturday.
Junior guard Whis Grant (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored 22 points in No. 6 East Stroudsburg’s 93-77 win over Bloomsburg on Saturday. The win clinched the Warriors’ second straight PSAC East title and third in five years. Grant is now eighth at ESU with 1,339 career points. In Wednesday’s 75-57 win at Shippensburg, Grant had eight points.
Senior center Connor Poston (Hatboro-Horsham) had 12 points and seven rebounds in Gettysburg’s 70-64 Senior Day win over Haverford on Saturday.
Senior Fran Rafferty (Upper Merion) had 13 points and nine rebounds in No. 2 Cabrini’s 106-97 loss at Baptist Bible College on Saturday. The loss drops the Blue and White to 20-1 overall and 14-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. In Wednesday’s 69-53 win at Centenary College, Rafferty had five rebounds.
Senior Nick Christian (Bensalem) shot 5-of-6 from the field to record 11 points in Philadelphia University’s 79-78 win over Chestnut Hill on Tuesday.
Sophomore Ryan Arcidiacono (Neshaminy) scored 14 points, which included four three-pointers, in No. 6 Villanova’s 87-62 win over DePaul on Wednesday.
Luke Moyer (Souderton) scored a career-high 16 points in Campbell University’s 77-66 win over Presbyterian on Wednesday night.
Sophomore Julian Hyden (Bensalem) had 13 points in Gwynedd Mercy’s 76-61 win over Rosemont on Wednesday. In Monday’s 74-53 win over Immaculata, Hyden had 16 points.
Senior guard Kenny Gula (Quakertown) led all scorers with 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting in Moravian’s 69-68 win over Haverford on Monday.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Sophomore Alex Wheatley (Council Rock South) scored 15 points on a 7-of-9 effort from the floor in Princeton’s 96-75 win over Yale on Saturday. In Friday’s 81-70 win over Brown, Wheatley had 16 points, going 6-of-8 from the field and 4-for-4 from the foul line.
Junior guard Shayla Felder (Cheltenham) contributed eight points in Chestnut Hill’s 85-59 loss to Philadelphia University on Tuesday night.
Sophomore Stephanie Knauer (North Penn) scored 15 points, pulled down six rebounds and made all seven of her free throws in Shippensburg’s 95-80 win at West Chester on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 80-71 win over East Stroudsburg, Knauer, despite early foul trouble, finished with 15 points in 19 minutes.
Senior Jordan Dominic (Pennridge) scored a game-high 16 points in Gwynedd Mercy’s 87-27 win over Baptist Bible on Saturday.
Point guard Amie Eppolito (Pennsbury) had 27 points, four rebounds and two assists in Cairn University’s 65-49 loss to Marywood University on Wednesday.
Sophomore forward Carley Kendall (Souderton) contributed eight points and five rebounds in Washington College’s 67-61 loss to Ursinus on Saturday.
Freshman Tyra Roberts (Bensalem) contributed 10 points and seven rebounds in Alvernia’s 67-58 win over Arcadia on Wednesday.
Sophomore forward Rachel Falkowski (Central Bucks South) scored all seven of her points in the final 1:30 to help East Stroudsburg rally from a 21-point deficit with 4:30 to go to get within single digits in the Warriors’ 80-71 loss to Shippensburg. Teammate Helena Gemmell (Council Rock North) added five points and three steals in 21 minutes off the bench.
Senior Brittany Sandone (Souderton) scored 22 points, including the game-tying three pointer in regulation and seven in overtime, in Cabrini’s 69-62 overtime win over Neumann on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 59-48 win at Immaculata, Sandone scored a game-high 18 points, including three pointers on four consecutive possessions to lead her team on a 12-2 run late in the game. In Monday’s 83-43 win over Cedar Crest, Sandone had eight points.
Shannon Barlow (Neshaminy) contributed 10 points and three assists in Delaware Valley’s 68-48 win over Misericordia on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 74-53 win at King’s, Barlow had six points and a team-high nine rebounds.
Kelsey Ryan (Neshaminy) contributed five points and five rebounds in Lock Haven’s 66-63 win over Mansfield on Saturday. With her team trailing 63-62 with 17.6 seconds to play, the senior forward drew a foul and stepped to the line where she tied the game 63-63. In Wednesday’s 63-59 overtime loss to West Chester, Ryan grabbed 11 rebounds in 30 minutes of action.
Emily Leer (Abington) had 13 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the floor in Villanova’s 61-46 home win over Butler on Wednesday.
Senior Daniella Ciccarone (Quakertown) just missed a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds in St. Thomas University’s 80-68 win over Johnson & Wales on Saturday.
Sophomore Ciara ‘CC’ Andrews (Cheltenham) scored six points in St. Joseph’s 89-75 win over George Mason on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 76-63 win over La Salle, Andrews had six points and four rebounds.

Rider freshman Ian Flynn (Upper Dublin) was sixth in the 200 IM with a time of 1:52.51 at the MAAC Championships this weekend. Flynn finished sixth in the 100 fly with a time of 50.73 and also finished sixth in the 100 free (46.48). Rider finished first in the team competition.
Lycoming junior TJ Guminiski (Hatboro-Horsham) finished 10th with a time of 4:3025. In the 400 IM at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships.
Kevin Dunigan (North Penn) was part of Washington & Jefferson College’s 400 free relay that established a new record with a time of 3:10 at the 2014 Presidents’ Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday. He lowered his own school record after finishing fourth in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:09.74. He also was part of the 400 medley relay that placed third with a time of 3:30.90 and the third place 200 free relay that posted a time of 1:27.25. Dunigan finished second in the 200 IM with a time of 1:56.96.
WOMEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING
Rider freshman Kelly Toner (Upper Dublin) was fifth in the 50 free with a time of 21.01 at the MAAC Championships on Thursday. Rider finished second behind Marist in the team competition.
Lycoming freshman Jess Wimmer (Souderton) finished 10th in the 200 IM with a time of 2:18.28 at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships on Friday. She also took eighth in the 400 IM with a time of 5:02.05.
The College of New Jersey sophomore Sarah Richards (Central Bucks East) competed in the C-final of the 100 butterfly at the 2014 Metropolitan Championships at Rutgers University Saturday, finishing 21st with a time of 1:03.09.
Emeline Leyens (Upper Dublin) was part of Washington & Jefferson College’s 400 medley relay that finished fourth with a time of 4:07.72 at the 2014 Presidents’ Athletic Conference Championships this weekend.
Lebanon Valley junior Jen Ikeda (North Penn) captured her second career 100 butterfly title at the MAC Swimming Champions, posting a time of 57.28. It is her third career MAC title overall and her third medal in the 100 fly. She won the event as a freshman and then earned a silver medal last year. Ikeda’s time made the NCAA ‘B’ cut and was just three-hundredths off her program record of 57.25 set during the 2012 MAC Championships. She also was part of Lebanon Valley’s 400 medley relay that posted a time of 4:17.56 to finish eighth.
Western Reserve University senior co-captain Maggie Dilione (Council Rock North) set a pool record in the 200 fly with a finals time of 2:03.08 on the first day of the 2014 University Athletic Association Invitational on Saturday.

Greg Kabakjian (Souderton) earned a win by a fall at 149 at 6:13 to earn a 22-0 win in No. 3 Messiah College’s 49-0 win over Elizabethtown on Thursday.
Junior Richard Jasinski (Pennridge) earned a 14-4 major decision in Ursinus College’s 41-3 win over Washington & Lee on Saturday.
