BASEBALL
Sophomore Matt Hollenbeck (Hatboro-Horsham) pitched seven strong innings on Sunday in Georgetown’s 3-2 win in 12 innings over Princeton University. Hollenbeck allowed only two runs while striking out five in seven innings of work. The win was Georgetown’s fifth straight.
Drew Frankenfield (Wissahickon) was 1-for-2 with an RBI in York College’s 6-2 loss to Salisbury in game one of a twinbill on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 9-5 win over Elizabethtown, Frankenfield was 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and run scored. Teammate Zach Phillipi (Harry S Truman) picked up the save, allowing only one hit in two innings of work. Philippi struck out two in earning his first save of the year.
Sophomore second baseman Billy Fleming (Council Rock South) had a pair of hits, including a two-run single in the fifth, in West Virginia’s 13-2 win over Kansas State in the Big 12 opener on Friday in Manhattan, Kan.
Alec Jacob (Pennsbury) threw two innings of relief in Lock Haven’s 5-4 loss in eight innings to Ashland on Saturday, allowing three hits and one run.
Robbie Zinsmeister (North Penn) had three hits, a stolen base and scored two runs while teammate Dylan Tice (Pennridge) had a pair of hits, including a double, and scored a run in IUP’s 8-7 loss in 12 innings to Chowan on Saturday. Both players had one hit in IUP’s 7-6 loss to Chowan in the second game of the twinbill. Tice’s hit was a triple. In Friday’s 3-2 loss to Chowan, Zinsmeister had two of his team’s five hits. Zinsmeister had a two-run double in IUP’s 4-3 loss to Chowan. Tice added a pair of hits and an RBI. In last Sunday’s sweep of Clarion, Zinsmeister had seven hits, including a 5-for-7 effort, which included a pair of doubles, in IUP’s 22-5 win. He also scored four runs and had one RBI. In the 22-5 win, Tice had a pair of hits, including a double, five runs scored and four RBIs. Jared Weed (Council Rock North) threw an inning in relief. In IUP’s 4-2 win, Zinsmeister was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored while Tice was 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Bobby Reddick (North Penn) earned his first collegiate victory in Northampton’s 7-3 win over Danville on Wednesday. The North Penn grad threw six innings, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out eight.
Eric Ruth (North Penn) recorded a five-out save, his second of the season in Winthrop’s 2-1 win over East Tennessee State on Tuesday night. Ruth did not allow a base runner and fanned four in his stint on the mound.
Dan Hinchliff (North Penn) delivered a three-run triple, one of his two hits in Catholic University’s 13-6 win over No. 24 Johns Hopkins on Monday.
Senior Mike Bradstreet (North Penn) tossed his second consecutive complete game shutout, striking out six and walking none in the University of Rhode Island’s 4-0 win over Winthrop on Friday. Bradstreet – who threw 77 of his 99 pitches for strikes – has not issued a walk in his last 20.2 innings pitched. In addition, he has now thrown 23 consecutive scoreless innings, the second best career total at URI.
Jim Smith (North Penn) contributed a double and RBI in Saint Peter’s 5-3 win over NJIT on Saturday.
Jake Kohler (Upper Dublin) earned the win on the mound in Ursinus College’s 7-3 win over Penn State –Harrisburg on March 3, striking out four and walking nine in the complete game effort.
Pete O’Hara (Council Rock North) contributed two hits, including a two-run double, while teammate Brandon Bell (Norristown) had three hits, three runs scored and one RBI in Delaware Valley’s 14-2 win over Hilbert College in Fort Pierce, Fla., on Saturday. The win was the fourth in a row for DelVal. In Thursday’s 3-1 win over FDU-Florham, O’Hara singled, stole second and scored the eventual game-winning run.
Junior John Burns (Neshaminy) knocked in three runs with a pair of RBI doubles in Gwynedd-Mercy’s 13-2 win over Centenary on Friday. In Wednesday’s 17-3 win at Penn State Berks, freshman David Blount (Harry S Truman) had three hits and scored three times.
Freshman Jesse Kohler (Upper Dublin) entered last Sunday’s game against D’Youville in relief and collected the final out of the fourth inning by recording his first career strikeout. Kohler went on to throw two scoreless innings in relief to earn the win in Oberlin’s 6-4 win over D’Youville, allowing two hits and fanning four.
Jordan Hofferman (Cheltenham) earned the win on the mound in Arcadia’s 10-2 win over Elizabethtown, allowing one run on six hits in seven innings on the mound.
Brian Happ (Central Bucks South), Joseph Crane (Council Rock South) and Ray Puskar (Pennridge) each contributed a pair of hits in Chestnut Hill’s 8-1 win over Post University. Happ had a pair of RBIs while Puskar contributed a double and scored two runs. Joe Mullin (Central Bucks South) added a hit and RBI. In Chestnut Hill’s 7-2 win over Post in the second game of a doubleheader sweep, Crane had a hit and scored two runs.
Junior second baseman Daniel Seitzinger (Central Bucks West) was 2-for-4 with a run scored and RBI in Moravian’s 5-3 win over Catholic University in game one of a twinbill on Sunday. Teammate Matt Hanson (Central Bucks West) added a hit. In a 5-4 loss in game two, Seitzinger had one hit, one RBI and scored a run while Hanson contributed an RBI double. In Friday’s 5-3 win at Catholic, Hanson contributed a double while Seitzinger added a single. In Wednesday’s 6-5 loss to Muhlenberg in 10 innings, Seitzinger had a pair of hits.
Freshman Greg McCuch (Upper Merion) earned his first college win in West Chester’s 4-3 win over Saint Rose on Wednesday, allowing two runs on three hits in three innings. In West Chester’s 9-5 win over Saint Rose in game two of the twinbill sweep, Nick Hinkson (Hatboro-Horsham) threw an inning of relief.
Junior Greg Welsh (Council Rock South) threw 4.1 scoreless innings of relief with two strikeouts in Penn State’s 3-2 loss in 10 innings to Temple on Sunday.
Brian Camp (Cheltenham) threw 1.1 innings of scoreless relief in Penn State Abington’s 10-5 loss to Rowan University on Wedneseday. Connor MacFarlane (Council Rock North) allowed five hits and two runs (both unearned) while walking three and striking out one in 4.2 innings of relief.
Tyler Orr (Neshaminy) was 1-for-2 with a run scored in Eastern University’s 4-1 win over Manhattanville on Saturday. In Friday’s 4-3 loss to Manhattanville, Orr launched his second home run of the year.
David Pine (Council Rock North) drove in a run in Millersville’s 12-3 loss to No. 25 Wilmington on Wednesday.
Junior Keith Moyer (Souderton) pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the save in East Stroudsburg’s 7-5 win at Felician on Thursday.
Jeremy McAlack (Council Rock North) was 1-for-3 in Cairn University’s 10-0 loss to Vassar College on Thursday. In Wednesday’s 6-5 win over Lesley University, McAlack had a pair of hits.
Sophomore leftfielder Ken McCormick (Pennsbury) accounted for two of his team’s five hits in Philadelphia University’s 10-0 loss to Barton on Saturday. In Thursday’s 6-3 loss to Armstrong, McCormick gave the Rams a 1-0 lead with a two-out RBI double in the top of the first inning. He finished the game with three hits. In Tuesday’s 13-7 loss to Belmont Abbey, McCormick contributed an RBI single.
Third baseman Matt Hone (Council Rock North) had two hits and three RBIs in Widener’s 18-3 win over Lebanon Valley on Friday. In Wednesday’s 6-2 win over Rutgers-Camden, Hone contributed an RBI triple. Freshman Craig Lager (Central Bucks East) threw an inning in relief, allowing one run.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Freshman Ryan Arcidiacono (Neshaminy) contributed 15 points, six rebounds and five assists in Villanova’s 66-53 win over St. John’s in the second round of the BIG EAST Championship on Wednesday night. On Thursday, Villanova fell to No. 4 Louisville 74-55 in a quarterfinal game. Villanova earned a bid to the upcoming NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats, the number nine seed in the South Region, will face No. 8 North Carolina on Friday in Dayton, Ohio.
Temple University senior guard Khalif Wyatt (Norristown) became the 10th Temple men’s basketball player to earn the coveted Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Year award. Wyatt, who was the only Temple player selected to the all-conference team, is also the first Owl to win the honor since Pepe Sanchez took home the award in 2000. Wyatt also was selected to the 2012-13 USWBA All-District II Team. He is one of 10 members of the team comprised of players from the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, West Virginia, Delaware and the District of Columbia. He was the Atlantic 10’s leading scorer (19.9 ppg), and he ranks seventh in the A10 in assists per game (4.1) and free throw percentage (.829). He is eighth in three-pointers made (2.2) and ninth in steals (1.6). His 179 made free throws this season is 10 behind Hal Lear’s single season Temple record (189) set in 1956-57.
Wyatt was named Atlantic 10 and Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending March 10. The Norristown grad shares the A10 honor with Charlotte’s Pierra Henry. This is the fourth time he has won the award. He earned his sixth Big 5 honor of the season outright. Wyatt, the Atlantic 10 Conference’s leading scorer (19.9 ppg), averaged 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals in a 2-0 week. In Temple’s 74-55 win over Fordham, he recorded his first career double-double, scoring a game-high 19 points and grabbling a game and career high 11 rebounds. In an 84-76 win over #19/21 VCU, he led all scorers with 30 points – his fifth 30-point game of the season. He also grabbed four rebounds, dished four assists and made a game-high four steals. For the year, Wyatt has been Temple’s leading scorer 19 times, including 14 of the last 17 games. He has averaged 23.4 points over his last 17 outings. He moved into 16th place on the Owls’ all-time scoring list with 1,495 points. In the VCU win, he became the 12th Temple player to score 600 points in a season.
Wyatt scored a team-high 19 points in Temple’s 79-74 loss to sixth-seeded Massachusetts on Friday night in the quarterfinal round of the Atlantic 10 tournament. His nine free throws pulled him within two of breaking Hal Lear’s record of made free throws in a single season. Temple earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Owls, the ninth seed in the East Region, will face eighth-seeded University of North Carolina on Friday in Dayton, Ohio.
East Stroudsburg sophomore guard Whis Grant (Plymouth Whitemarsh) has been named to the Daktronics All-Atlantic Region men’s basketball first team. He is the Warriors’ first All-Region selection in 19 years. Grant is the only underclassman among the five players on the Atlantic Region first team. He is one of just three sophomores among the 40 first team selections from across the country. The PSAC East Athlete of the Year, Grant leads the PSAC’s top scoring offense with 17.3 points per game and is fifth in the PSAC with 1.9 steals per game. Grant is the only PSAC player named to the first team. He ranks seventh in the PSAC in scoring, second in three-point percentage (39.9), fifth in three-pointers per game (2.4) and fifth in steals per game (1.9) entering the NCAA Tournament. Grant is 65-for-163 from the three-point line and 109-for-135 (80.7 percent) from the foul line this season. He has scored 468 points on just 350 shots from the field. He also is second on the Warriors with 2.9 assists per game and averages 3.2 rebounds.
Grant scored 26 points in East Stroudsburg’s 76-68 loss to IUP in Saturday’s NCAA Division II opener. He was 10-for-13 from the field and 3-for-5 from the three-point line to give him 68 three’s this season, the second most in school history. He closed the season averaging 17.6 points per game. He was ESU’s top scorer with 13.9 ppg on last year’s PSAC championship team.
Junior Fran Rafferty (Upper Merion) had nine points and nine rebounds in Cabrini’s 70-63 win at the College of Wooster in Saturday’s NCAA second round game. Cabrini will face No. 2 Amherst College (27-2) on Friday at the Salem, Va. Civic Center.
Marcus Badger (Plymouth Whitemarsh) contributed 10 points, seven assists and two rebounds in Randolph-Macon’s 93-76 loss to Amherst in an NCAA ‘Sweet 16’ game on Saturday.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Danielle Derr (Upper Dublin) scored six points in Bloomsburg’s 72-59 loss to IUP in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional championships on Friday. The Huskies ended the season with a record of 24-6.
MEN’S LACROSSE
Craig Hunsberger (Pennrige) was credited with four ground balls in Elizabethtown’s 19-3 loss to second-ranked Stevenson on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 8-7 win over Frostburg State, Hunsberger scored two goals and won five face-offs. In last Sunday’s 15-5 win over Emmanuel (Mass.), Hunsberger scored a man-up goal, his first as a Blue Jay.
Heath Kupecky (Upper Merion) scored a goal in Messiah College’s 12-6 win over Gordon College on Saturday.
Junior midfielder Shawn Caven (Pennsbury) was credited with four ground balls in Ursinus College’s 10-8 win over Montclair State on Wednesday.
Johnny Casey (Abington) scored a pair of goals in Widener’s 8-7 loss to No. 3 Dickinson on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 16-7 win over Immaculata, Casey tied his career high with six goals. He completed his hat trick in the first quarter, propelling the Pride to a 5-1 lead.
Junior Garret Rosiek (Wissahickon) contributed three goals and two assists in Aurora University’s 23-3 win over Hanover College on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 34-0 win over Milwaukee School of Engineering, Rosiek finished with six points on two goals and four assists.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
La Salle junior Lauren McDermott (North Penn) was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for the week ending March 10. She recorded a pair of hat tricks in the Explorers’ 2-0 week in California over spring break. She scored three in a 14-8 win over Fresno State before tallying another three-goal game at San Diego State. She scored both the tying and the game-winning goals in a 53-second span to complete La Salle’s come-from-behind 14-13 win. McDermott also recorded a pair of draw controls against Fresno State and had one more at SDSU. She also picked up a ground ball and was credited with a caused turnover against Fresno State. The Explorers 6-1 start is the best in program history through seven games.
McDermott had two goals and one assist in La Salle’s 8-7 overtime win over Central Connecticut State on Saturday.
Sophomore Hannah Vogel (Hatboro-Horsham) tallied the hat trick in Millersville’s 11-7 win over Georgian Court on Wednesday.

In Wednesday’s 15-6 loss to Dowling, Ashley Bossert (Wissahickon) had one goal and one assist while Canavan had an assist and Aubrey Bossert (Wissahickon) had three ground balls.
Junior Brittany Hanrahan (North Penn) was credited with three ground balls and two caused turnovers while freshman Caroline Hagan (Hatboro-Horsham) caused a game-high three turnovers and had two ground balls in St. Joseph University’s 9-8 loss in overtime to Monmouth on Wednesday.
Julia Kudla (Souderton) had two goals and five assists and was credited with three ground balls in Lake Erie’s 11-9 loss to 14th-ranked Bloomsburg on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 16-7 loss to Mercyhurst, Kudla had one goal, three assists and two ground balls.
Freshman Cortnee Daley (Hatboro-Horsham) contributed an assist and two groundball pickups in Louisville’s 9-8 win over Drexel on Sunday. In Wednesday’s 19-2 win over Detroit, Daley had a pair of goals.
Freshman goalkeeper Ally Frymoyer (Upper Merion) recorded four saves in Shippensburg’s 7-6 win of Georgian Court on Saturday. Senior Roxanne Brown (Pennridge) scored a goal and shared the team lead with four groundball pickups.
Sophomore Dani Horn (North Penn) had two of her team’s three goals in Gwynedd-Mercy’s 14-3 loss to Lycoming on Saturday. In Thursday’s 19-6 win over Rosemont, Horn had four goals and three assists while junior Amy Powell (Plymouth Whitemarsh) also had four goals. In Tuesday’s 21-3 win over Penn State Abington, Horn finished with a game-high 11 points (seven goals/four assists). Powell finished with four goals.
Senior midfielder Elizabeth Chatburn (Upper Dublin) had two caused turnovers in Ursinus College’s 14-5 win over Widener on Wednesday. Junior Riley Pembroke (Hatboro-Horsham) had three saves in one half of action in goal.
Junior Tori Kimberly (Central Bucks West) scored a goal and was credited with three ground balls and two caused turnovers in Penn State Abington’s 19-3 loss to Wilkes University on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 21-3 loss to Gwynedd-Mercy, Kimberly had four draw controls.
SOFTBALL
Millersville sophomore catcher Gabbie Berry (Norristown) was named the PSAC East Player of the Week on Monday. She is the first Millersville softball player to receive that award since 2010. Berry ignited the Marauder offense, leading the team to 20 combined runs over two games in a doubleheader sweep of Bowie State. She went 4-for-7 in the pair of games, upping her season average to .462 and knocking in four runs while also scoring four runs. One of her hits was a run-scoring double in a 9-0 win. In her team’s 9-0 win, she went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs. She also handled freshman pitcher Brianna Andraos behind the plate, allowing the rookie to toss a complete game shutout in her first career start. In the second game, she was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI. After going hitless in the team’s first game of the season, she has had two hits in each of the team’s next three games with seven RBI and seven runs scored. Last season, she led the team with 20 RBIs.
Sophomore second baseman Danielle DiFilippo (Hatboro-Horsham) delivered a solo home run in the sixth inning to propel Millersville to a 1-0 win over Chestnut Hill in game one of a twinbill on Wednesday. In Millersville’s 8-0 win in game two, DiFilippo had a pair of hits, including a double, one run scored and one RBI. Stephanie Kulp (North Penn) was 1-for-2 with a double and RBI. In Friday’s 5-4 win over Bluefield State, Berry blasted a solo shot while Kulp also contributed an RBI. In a 6-1 loss to Shepherd on Friday, Berry doubled and scored. The loss snapped a five-game winning streak. In Saturday’s 4-1 win over Bluefield state, Kulp delivered an RBI single. It was her fifth RBI of the season, tying her for third best on the team in knocking in runs. DiFilippo also recorded her fifth RBI of the season with a single in the sixth inning. In Sunday’s 8-0 win over Ohio Valley, Berry contributed a double and RBI. She also scored two runs. Kulp and DiFilippo each had a hit.
Freshman Haileigh Stocks (Central Bucks South) was 1-for-3 in Robert Morris University’s 3-0 loss to Oklahoma State on Saturday in Clearwater, Fla. Stocks absorbed the loss on the mound in a 3-2 loss to Cornell earlier in the day, fanning five and walking none. In Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Saint Peter’s, Stocks tossed a three-hit shutout in her first collegiate start to earn her first ever win. Stocks threw 63 of her 95 pitches for strikes and also had an impact at the plate, blasting her third home run of the season over the fence in left center to provide herself with all the run support she would need. In Tuesday’s 4-2 win over Lehigh, which featured CB South teammate Morgan Decker. Stocks singled and scored a run. Decker collected a hit as well.
Freshman Morgan Decker (Central Bucks South) hit a solo home run to straightaway center field in Lehigh’s 13-2 five-inning win over Saint Peter’s on Thursday in Kissimmee, Fla. It was her second homer of the season. In Lehigh’s 7-0 win over Wagner, Decker was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored. After 15 games – Decker has started all 15, the CB South alum is leading Lehigh with a .359 batting average (14-for-39) with a team-high slugging percentage of (.641) and 11 RBIs. In last Monday’s 4-0 win over Akron, Decker went 2-for-3, and in Lehigh’s 8-2 loss to Eastern Illinois later in the day, Decker belted her first career home run. In a pair of losses last Sunday to Eastern Illinois (4-3 in eight innings) and North Dakota (5-3), Decker was 4-for-8 with two RBIs.
West Chester senior pitcher Devon Utterback (Central Bucks South) was named the PSAC East Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 10. Utterback was 3-1 with a save in seven appearances and strung together a 15-inning consecutive scoreless streak during the Golden Rams’ trip down south. She has allowed just two earned runs in her last four games and is unbeaten in her last four outings as well. Utterback struck out 27 batters in 29.2 innings of work. She threw a two-hitter against Alderson-Broaddus in a complete game effort, striking out nine in that contest. She held previously nationally ranked Southern Connecticut State to just two runs (one of them earned) on eight hits in a win over the Owls. Utterback is 4-1 with a staff low 2.28 ERA in 10 appearances this spring. She has allowed 38 hits and struck out 39 in 40 innings of work while walking just 11 batters. She was a first team All-PSAC selection last year.
Megan Kelly (Hatboro-Horsham) and Erin Quense (Neshaminy) both contributed a pair of hits – Kelly also had a stolen base – in West Chester’s 3-0 win over Davis & Elkins in the final game of the day Saturday at the West Virginia Wesleyan Tournament. Laura Altenburger (Neshaminy) also had a hit. Utterback earned the win on the mound, tossing a four-hit shutout. Earlier in the day, Utterback absorbed the loss in West Chester’s 3-1 loss to Ohio Valley. West Chester bounced back to defeat Bluefield 16-0.
Sophomore Liz Parkins (Souderton) entered a bases-loaded situation in the sixth inning of Shippensburg’s 6-2 win over West Liberty on Saturday and notched a strikeout on four pitches and then induced a pop-up in front of the plate to end the inning. Parkins earned a save for getting the final five outs and helping Shippensburg escape the bases-loaded jam in the sixth. In Friday’s 6-3 win over Massachusetts Lowell, Parkins earned the win on the mound, improving to 3-0 this season and already matching her win total from last year. She allowed two earned runs on seven hits while striking out five in 5.1 innings.
Alexandra Schafer (Pennsbury) was 2-for-4 with a double, run scored and three RBIs in Arcadia’s 12-8 loss too Spalding University on Wednesday in Myrtle Beach,. In Thursday’s 4-0 loss to Eureka College, Schafer had one of her team’s four hits.
Chelsea Edwards (Hatboro-Horsham) delivered a two-run home run in Lock Haven’s 5-1 win over UMass Lowell at the Salem Virginia Tournament on Saturday. She finished the game 2-for-3 with one run scored and three RBIs. In Lock Haven’s 9-4 loss to West Virginia State, Edwards homered.
Freshman catcher Mollie Burrell (Souderton) hit a two-run home run as part of a four-run fourth in Philadelphia University’s 8-0 five-inning win over Swarthmore on Thursday in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Teammate Emilia Cantrell (Central Bucks East) added a pair of hits. In Philadelphia University’s 8-1 win over SUNY IT earlier in the day, Cantrell had a pair of hits. In Wednesday’s 7-1 loss to Gettysburg, Cantrell’s RBI single accounted for the team’s only run. In Tuesday’s 7-3 loss to Waldorf, Cantrell connected for her first collegiate home run, a solo blast. In Monday’s 12-0 win over Gordon, Burrell contributed a two-run double while Cantrell collected an RBI as well.
Junior Stephanie Farrar (North Penn) hit a solo home run in Gwynedd-Mercy’s 7-3 loss to Neumann on Friday. In the Griffins 8-0 loss to Neumann in the second game of the twinbill, Farrar reached base twice.
Mary Ward (North Penn) was 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored in IUP’s 14-0 five-inning win over Seton Hill on Friday in the first day of the Atlantic Region Challenge in Virginia.
Deanna Dungee (North Penn) allowed just four hits and struck out seven in a complete game shutout in Alvernia’s 9-0 win over Immaculata on Wednesday.
Kelly Hendrickson (William Tennent) was 1-for-2 in Cairn University’s 20-1 loss to Marywood University on Friday. In Tuesday’s 15-0 loss to Spalding University, Hendrickson – despite giving up 15 runs – finished with an ERA of 1.80 since only one of those runs was earned.
MEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING
University of Rochester senior Adam Bossert (Wissahickon) has been named to the All-Academic team in the University Athletic Association during the winter 2012-13 season. To be named to the UAA All-Academic squad, athletes in participating sports must have a cumulative GPA of above 3.30.
Penn State’s TJ Schenkel (Council Rock South) finished up his season on the men’s 3-meter board and capped his NCAA Zone A Diving Championships experience on Saturday with a six-dive score of 199.45 to finish 42nd in the prelims of the event. On Friday, Schenkel placed 31st on the men’s 1-meter board. His six-dive total score was 244.50 in the prelims. Schenkel was the top scorer on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards for Penn State, along with a team-best showing of 212.60 on the platform this season. His top tally on the 1-meter was 301.05 vs. Villanova on Nov. 10, 2012.
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Junior Austin Jacoby (Pennridge) had a team-high 20 kills while posting a .515 hitting percentage in No. 10 Stevenson’s 3-1 win over No. 8 NYU in Santa Cruz, Calif., on Friday. In Stevenson’s 3-0 loss to No. 5 UC Santa Cruz, Jacoby had a team-high eight kills. In Tuesday’s 3-2 win over Eastern Mennonite, Jacoby led all players with 19 kills. He also added 15 digs.
Senior outside hitter Noah Prickett (Pennsbury) blasted 21 kills in Cairn University’s 3-2 win over Coker College on Wednesday. Ethan Mawhinney (Neshaminy) registered six kills.
WRESTLING
Bucknell sophomore 285-pounder Joe Stolfi (Souderton) finished third in his weight class at the EIWA Championships and as a result earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships. The top four finishers at 285 pound earned automatic NCAA berths, meaning Stolfi will be making his first career trip to NCAAs. He is Bucknell’s first heavyweight to earn an NCAA bid since 1984. The fifth-seeded Stolfi, who went 5-1 during the EIWA Championships, is now 23-14 this season. He defeated three seeded opponents at the EIWA Championships and is 16-3 over his last 19 bouts. In his opening round match against Army’s Collin Wittmeyer, Stolfi earned a 3-0 decision. In the quarterfinals, he dropped a 10-5 decision to #4 Daniel Miller of Navy. In his first consolation round match, Stolfi defeated Dillon Ingham of Brown (fall, 5:38). In the consolation quarterfinals, Stolfi notched a 5-1 decision over #8 David Ng of Harvard. In the consolation semifinals, he notched a win over #6 Steven Graziano of Penn (fall, 4:26) and went on to earn a 12-0 major decision in the consolation finals over #3 Stryker Lane of Cornell. Stolfi will begin competition at the NCAA Championships on March 21. The three-day event takes place at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa. Stolfi will face sixth-seeded Bobby Telford of Iowa in his first career NCAA bout. Telford earned a 6-1 decision over Stolfi at December’s Grapple at the Garden.
