2010 SOL Boys' BB Wrap (1-6-11)

Upper Merion 65, Phoenixville 42

The night belonged to Upper Merion’s big men.
Ed Chimillio turned in a dazzling 17-point, 14-rebound effort while teammate Naim Cheeseboro added 12 points and 10 rebounds in a solid supporting role.
“Eddie Chimillio played amazing,” coach Francis Bowe said. “He had two monstrous dunks, 17 points and 14 rebounds.
“I have to give my big men credit. Naim and Ed both had double-doubles.”
James Mobley and Pat Stringfield added 10 points each for the Vikings, who went on an 18-4 second-quarter tear to go into the intermission with a 31-16 lead.
“We just upped the tempo,” Bowe said of his team’s second quarter run. “We were so intense defensively and rebounding. I have to give my big men credit. They were so intense. They really worked hard, and they really dominated the inside for us.
“I want this to happen against Cheltenham and Norristown. Maybe we’ll get them someday.”
Methacton 55, Souderton 44
Things looked promising for Souderton when the Indians sprinted to a 19-7 lead at the end of one quarter, but the Warriors answered with a 17-5 second-quarter tear, sending the two teams into halftime deadlocked 26-26. The Warriors outscored the Indians 13-12 in the third quarter and put the game out of reach with an 18-8 fourth quarter.
Ryan Connolly and Anthony Sergio led the Indians with 11 points each while Dan Falenki had nine points.
