Central Bucks East (4-5, 3-2) had both another victory and another hero as the Patriots collected a dramatic 50-48 Suburban One League Continental Conference victory over Central Bucks South (2-9, 1-4).

The latest East hero was 6-foot, 3-inch junior Ryan O’Neil, who tipped in a missed Patriot shot at the buzzer to secure the win. O’Neil finished the game with a team-high 14 points.

“We don’t seem to make anything easy,” said Central Bucks East head coach Erik Henrysen. “We are a team of unselfish players, and we’re finally starting to put some good things together.”

The last two games have been very good things for CB East. In addition to the thriller over district rival South, the Patriots edged district rival Central Bucks West (6-4, 2-3) – 52-50 – as Matt Stauffer scored on an offensive putback with 1.5 seconds left.

“We want to continue the momentum of the last two games going into Friday’s game with Quakertown (1-9, 0-5),” said Henrysen. “CB South might not have a great record, but they have a good team. Right now they’re a team that has been finding ways to lose.”

And right now, the Patriots have been finding ways to win.

Pennsbury (4-7, 2-3) is beginning to adjust to new head coach Bill Coleman’s system as the Falcons flew to a 61-51 SOL National Conference win over host Truman (4-6, 2-3).

“We are getting there,” said Coleman. “There is a huge difference between myself and (last year’s head coach) Frank (Sciolla), and the players are still getting used to the up-tempo game that I want to play.

“We got some good pressure on Truman, and that created some turnovers and easy baskets,” added Coleman. “We need to have that fullcourt pressure if we are going to compete.”

Falcon guard Kieran Bolger continues his wonderful season with a 25-point explosion against Truman.

“I am so proud of the effort that Kieran has played with the last few games,” said Coleman. “He is the focal point of every team’s defense, and he continues to our best scorer.

“Zach Sibel is our blue-collar worker and he had a good game off the boards,” added Coleman of his 6-2 forward. “We either ask him to play the best player on the other team, or the biggest player.”

Sibel scored 17 points for the Falcons.

Pennsbury led 42-28 at the half and was never seriously threatened.

Wissahickon (6-5, 2-2) bolted to a 19-6 first period lead and defeated host Upper Merion (5-6, 1-3) – 67-54.

“We got a little sloppy in the second half of the game,” said Wissahickon head coach Kyle Wilson. “But you have to give (Upper Merion guard) James Mobley a lot of credit. He had an outstanding game.”

Mobley torched the Trojans for a game-high 28 points.

“He was making shots three and four feet behind the three-point line,” said Wilson. “Usually, we let players shoot from there, but he continued to make them, and we had to go out and play him there.”

Wissahickon was led in scoring by the tandem of Jordan Reed and Mike Scheier with 19 points each.

“We have a lot more weapons now that Jordan is back in the lineup,” said Wilson in reference to Jordan missing games due to a concussion. “He can play above the rim. He had two monster dunks in that first period.”

It was a real good period for the Trojans – and it translated into a real good victory.
