Scott Huff features Central Bucks West and highlights the conference's sharpshooters.

Please don’t feel too sorry for Central Bucks West head coach Dave Baun and his Bucks.
“I have great kids with great attitudes, and players that support each other extremely well,” said Baun as his West team is winless in nine games competing in the Suburban High School Hockey League Continental Conference. “I have a very young team with little or no experience. About one third of this team has never played ice hockey before this year.
“These kids work extremely hard and are very coachable,” added Baun. “That can make up for the fact that we haven’t had the success in terms of wins and losses. This has been a great group of players to coach.”
One player that has risen to elite status in the SHSHL despite the lack of success of the team has been junior Austin Siemion. Siemion is among the scoring leaders in the league and draws rave reviews from his coach.
“I feel that Austin is the best goal scorer in the entire league,” said Baun. “He has an incredible shot – a real sniper. Plus he is a great student off the ice, a great teammate, and just a great kid to coach.”
Baun also had kind words about senior Tyler Delaney and freshman Patrick Smith.
“I have coached some really good hockey players, and Tyler is right up there in terms of working hard and getting the most out of his ability,” said Baun. “And Patrick is a great young talent who is going to develop into an excellent high school player.”
Central Bucks West lost two excellent hockey players prior to the start of this season. Johnny Taylor moved to Canada to sharpen his fine hockey skills, while Nick Moffett decided to go the prep school for the same reason.
“It was tough to lose two of the three top players that you knew were going to make you competitive,” said Baun. “But that’s what happened, and we have to deal with it.
“It just might be our turn to be at the bottom of the standings, it will make getting to the top that much sweeter,” added Baun. “My goal this season is to make this season a train ride – not a train wreck. I know that we will play better, and I hope that we can win a few league games the second half of the season.
