Millennium Administrators
Highlighting…SOL Girls’ Basketball Players

This recognition is sponsored by Millennium Administrators. Athletes are chosen based on nomination of coaches.

National Conference Millennium Administrators Highlighted Player
Khristaijah Jackson – Junior at Harry S Truman High School

A three-year varsity player, Jackson is one of the top offensive players in the SOL, averaging 18.4 points a game. Jackson, a natural three or four, plays the five for the Tigers because she is the tallest player on the team. The junior captain is on track to achieve her goal of reaching the 1,000-point milestone next season.
Note from the coach:
“Khristaijah is a prime example of hard work pays off,” coach Collette Munford said. “She didn’t start taking the game or her game seriously until ninth grade and has been a workhorse ever since. She has her own little fan base with some of our up and coming Little Lady Tigers. I’m already proud of her because she’s come a long way.”
About Khristaijah:
Best memory playing basketball:
My best memory is when Rickea Boyd scored like 10 points in a game. She was so happy and the team kept cheering her on, standing up for her on the sideline and actually looking like a team!
Part of the game I enjoy most: When I’m being announced and when I do the jump ball and we make a basket because I hit it straight to our teammate, and we start off on a good note. It makes us feel good about each other!
My role model is:  Coach Collette Munford, my Mother and my Grandfather
Music that gets me pumped before games: Party music!!
Favorite food:  All kinds of seafood
Favorite TV show:  None. I like everything.
Chocolate or vanilla:  Vanilla

Continental Conference Millennium Administrators Highlighted Player
Tehya Daneker – Senior at North Penn High School

After two years as a swing player for the jayvee and varsity, Daneker has stepped into a starting varsity role this season. The senior forward is one of the unsung heroes in the Maidens 10-0 start, providing a steadying presence and contributing the little things that often go unnoticed.

Note from the coach:
“Tehya is very solid and steady,” coach Maggie deMarteleire said. ”She works hard in the offseason. She isn’t going to put up a whole lot of points, but she has worked on her game and is a threat to score, and she boxes out all the time. Defensively, she’s played very well. She’s her own worst critic. She’s very, very hard on herself, but because she’s put in so much time in the offseason – I think she’s gaining confidence in herself, and that’s really helping us. She gets her rebounds, she’ll make a good pass, and she’s solid on defense. She doesn’t make mistakes. She really solidifies our starting five.”
About Teyha:
Best memory playing basketball:  Last year, my junior year, we went to Villanova to play in the district championship. It was a great experience to be there with my team.
Part of the game I enjoy most: Right before we start (a game), we get in a huddle and pump each other up. Everyone says something that raises the excitement and intensity, and we really come together as a team. From there, we got right into the tip-off, and we’re ready to go.
My role model is:  My mom. She was a great athlete when she was in high school, and she has never failed to support me in all the sports I have played.
Music that gets me pumped before games: I like fast-paced music that has a good beat. I like some of Nicki Minaj’s songs, and right now I listen to Thrift Shop by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis before games, and it gets me hyped.
Favorite food:  Buffalo chicken wrap
Favorite TV show:  Family Guy
Chocolate or vanilla:  I prefer a twist

American Conference Millennium Administrators Highlighted Player
Lauren Rothfeld – Senior at Upper Dublin High School

A four-year varsity player and three-year starter, Rothfeld is a co-captain of a Flying Cardinal squad that has jumped out of the gate to a 10-1 start. Rothfeld received honorable mention all-league recognition as a junior and is averaging close to seven points a game this season. The senior captain brings intangibles to the team that don’t show up in the numbers she posts.
Note from the coach:
“The contributions that Lauren makes to this team go well beyond the statistics that show up in the box score,” coach Morgan Funsten said. “She leads the team through the example of her selfless play and positive attitude, and for this reason was voted by her teammates to be one of the captains this year, along with fellow senior Brianna Spector. I have been fortunate enough to have Lauren in class the last two years, and now as her coach as well, I can tell she has developed the confidence to be a leader on and off the court. She has really worked at her game to become the player she is today, and I know that because of her tireless work ethic, Lauren will be successful in whatever she decides to do in her life. Whichever college she decides to go to will be getting a very high quality basketball player but an even better student and person.”
About Lauren:
Best memory playing basketball:
My best basketball memory was when I got into my first varsity game my freshman year. I was so nervous and amped up that I got four fouls in four minutes. It was a moment that I will remember forever.
Part of the game I enjoy most:  My favorite part of the game is defense because unlike offense you can be a factor on and off the ball. I love the satisfaction that I get when I am face guarding someone and I completely take them out of the game.
My role model is:  My grandfather because nothing gets under his skin. He is never afraid to take chances, and he loves to tell jokes and be around his family. He just lives life to the fullest every day.
Music that gets me pumped before games:  Really anything as long as it is loud.
Favorite food:  Grilled Cheese
Favorite TV show:  Grey’s Anatomy
Chocolate or vanilla:  Vanilla
