Highlighting…SOL Girls’ Basketball Players
This recognition is sponsored by Millennium Administrators. Athletes are chosen based on nomination of coaches.
National Conference Millennium Administrators Highlighted Player
Courtney Kruscavage – Senior at Pennsbury High School
A three-year varsity player, Kruscavage is a two-year starter and one of three captains this year. The senior guard/forward will be playing basketball at Moravian College next year. She will pursue a degree in nursing.
Note from the coach:
“Courtney is the ultimate team players who leads by example both on and off the court,” Donna Nicholson said. “She is our 3D (dedicated, determined, desire) athlete who does all the little things that don’t show up on the stat sheet but help to ensure our team’s success.”
About Courtney:
Best memory playing basketball: My two favorite memories are this year playing with the group of girls we have and my freshman year playing at the Wide World of Sports Center in Orlando with my Fencor team.
Part of the game I enjoy most: I love everything about the game but truly enjoy playing defense the most.
My role models are: My parents. They are the most hard working, unselfish people I know. They have set a great example for my sister and me and support us in everything that we do.
Music that gets me pumped before games: I like a lot of different types of music, especially songs that have a good beat and are fun to sing to…even though I can’t!
Favorite food: Crab bisque soup and chicken parm
Favorite TV show: I don’t have a lot of time to watch TV, but I enjoy watching Bones on my days off.
Chocolate or vanilla: Chocolate…especially with marshmallow!
Continental Conference Millennium Administrators Highlighted Player
Kat Bahner – Senior at Central Bucks West High School
Bahner has been part of West’s program for three years but was considering not coming back this year to focus on lacrosse. She opted to return and is one of three captains of a West squad that is in first place in the Continental Conference standings. Bahner, according to her coaches, leads by example and does everything the right way. She will be attending Lehigh University.
Note from the coaches:
“Kat is a great kid that loves the game and loves to compete,” coach Terry Rakowsky said. “Whether it’s a workout, practice or game, you always know what you are going to get from Kat. She is very consistent. She also loves to play defense, which is something many girls do not enjoy doing..”
About Kat:
Best memory playing basketball: Beating CB East twice my senior year.
Part of the game I enjoy most: Playing defense.
My role model is: My mom.
Music that gets me pumped before games: Skrillex
Favorite food: Chinese
Favorite TV shows: New Girl and Friends
Chocolate or vanilla: Chocolate
American Conference Millennium Administrators Highlighted Player
Seraiah Robinson – Senior at Cheltenham High School
The senior forward is playing varsity fulltime for the first time this year. Robinson is one of the team’s three captains and is averaging a team-high 10.8 rebounds a game.
Note from the coach:
“Seraiah plays with a tremendous amount of heart,” coach Brendan Nolan said. “She is the perfect example of a player who plays bigger than her height. Standing at only 5-7, she routinely defends girls over six feet. She is also our leading rebounder. Twice this season Seraiah recorded 20 rebounds in a game. We will certainly miss her tenacity on the boards next year.”
About Seraiah:
Best memory playing basketball: I’ll never forget when CC (Andrews) got a steal in the last seconds of the first round state playoff game last year against Bangor and made the winning shot. We didn’t have very many fans at the game, but the support from the parents and teammates had a huge impact. It was an exciting and unforgettable experience.
Part of the game I enjoy most: The game allows me to develop friendships and gives me a chance to not only improve my basketball skills but also to improve my character. I have grown stronger as a player and a person through basketball, and that is what I enjoy most about the game.
My role model is: I look up to my mother for many reasons. Even though she knows very little about the game, she knows just enough. My mom encourages me to be my best, like most mothers, which means she will not hesitate to let me know when she thinks there is something I can do better. I truly appreciate her heart and integrity.
Music that gets me pumped before games: There isn’t anything in particular. It changes from game to game.
Favorite food: Pasta
Favorite TV show: House
Chocolate or vanilla: Vanilla
