STERLING LIMOUSINE AND TRANSPORTATION
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Sterling Limo Offensive Player of the Week

Jamir Barnes – The senior running back had four touchdowns in Cheltenham’s 35-21 win over Unionville in a District One 5A quarterfinal game. Barnes led the Panthers’ ground game with 144 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries, averaging 8.0 yards a carry. He also had two receptions for 31 yards and a touchdown. He is a key member of the defense at cornerback.

Coach Ryan Nase says: “Jamir is Jamir. People forget how good he is because we’ve been a little less one dimensional this year because Adonis (Hunter) is playing better, TJ (Harris) and Nate (Edwards) are playing better, and Sam (Sykes) has been playing really well. People forget how good Jamir really is. I still don’t think he has given up a pass reception at corner all year. That’s one of those things – you hear NFL guys tell stories about how they had 100 pass defenses with no receptions, and you think ‘That’s not possible.’ Well, now I’m realizing it actually may be.”

Sterling Limo Defensive Player of the Week

Jon-Marc Foreman, Cheltenham – The senior linebacker once again led the defense in Cheltenham’s 35-21 win over Unionville, finishing with 14 tackles – 12 solo – and had the team’s only two sacks.

Coach Ryan Nase says:  “Jon-Mark has been getting the nickname of the Swiss Army knife because he does a little bit of everything. Honestly, as head coaches we’re not supposed to admit that some kids play literally every single snap of the game, and Jon-Marc might because he plays almost every play on offense, just about every play on defense, and he’s on most of our special teams. Sometimes he doesn’t show up in all the stat books, but what he gives us in terms of blocking, being a passing threat and everything else is huge, plus his play on defense.”

Sterling Limo Special Teams Player of the Week

Nate Edwards, Cheltenham – The Panther senior returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown, breaking a 7-7 tie and giving Cheltenham a lead it would not lose in the Panthers’ 35-21 win over Unionville. He also had four tackles.

Coach Ryan Nase says:  “Nate’s Nate. He’s one of the most unconventional kids out there. He’s everything that embodies Cheltenham football. He has his flaws, he has his struggles, he’s overcome unbelievable adversities in his life, and he just makes plays all over the field. He’s an unbelievable freak of an athlete, he’s got the toughness of an MMA fighter, and he brings it all the time. It helps that his counselor at Cheltenham is an MMA fighter.”

Kolby Barrow, North Penn – The senior quarterback threw for 250 yards in North Penn’s 40-31 loss to Downingtown West.

Brian Dresnin, Plymouth Whitemarsh – The senior running back had 153 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries in Plymouth Whitemarsh’s 56-21 loss to Garnet Valley.
