STERLING LIMOUSINE AND TRANSPORTATION
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Sterling Limo Player of the Week

Sam Sykes, Cheltenham – The junior linebacker shared the team lead with nine tackles in Cheltenham’s 28-24 win over Plymouth Whitemarsh. It was his stop in the game’s final seconds on fourth-and-goal from the one-yard line that preserved the win for the Panthers. He also was pressed into emergency duty on offense and – on fourth-and-long – hauled in an Adonis Hunter pass, shed would-be tacklers and took it 47 yards for the go-ahead touchdown that gave the Panthers a 28-24 lead.

Coach Ryan Nase says:  “Sam doesn’t always get the attention he deserves because he a junior amongst a number of talented senior offensive football players, but there is no denying his talent. He has been a major catalyst to the turnaround at Cheltenham and has been a varsity player since his freshman year.”

Sterling Limo Offensive Players of the Week

RJ Macnamara, North Penn – The senior defensive end has been a contributor on offense all season, but he became the workhorse out of the backfield when Khalani Eaton’s night was shortened by an injury. Macnamara led the Knights with 149 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries and also had a 62-yard touchdown reception in North Penn’s 47-21 win over Souderton in a battle of unbeaten conference teams.

Coach Dick Beck says:  “He’s been playing well defensively. The last three or four games he’s really been playing at the top of his game. He usually plays some tight end or fullback – we mix him around a little bit. When Khalani (Eaton) got hurt, we moved him to running back, so he got the most carries he ever had. On a big third down and 12, he caught the ball down the seam, broke three tackles and got in the end zone, which was a big play for us at the time.”

Jack Fallon, Central Bucks West – The senior running back contributed on both sides of the football. Fallon was once again the catalyst on offense, finishing with 228 yards of total offense and three touchdowns to lead the way in Central Bucks West’s 45-10 win over Central Bucks East.

Coach Rob Rowan says:  Jack was responsible for 228 yards of offense Friday night along with three scores with all coming in the first half.  He set the tone early on the first drive taking us down the field in four plays to set us up for a quarterback sneak at the goal line.  He impacted the game on the ground as well as in the air, totaling 80 yards receiving on three catches.  He continues to excel week by week even as teams key on him.   He was also a critical part of a secondary that totaled four first half interceptions.”

Sterling Limo Defensive Players of the Week

Pennsbury Defense – (Front row l-r) Shane Hammer, Trevor Williams, Rocco Sannelli, Zach Zauzig, Isaiah Rowe, Liam Donnelly, (Back row) Christian Bond, Matt Carey, Jake Krefetz, Sam Burke, Jake Schilling, Shane Simmons, Drew Hensor, Brad Mickles – The Falcons’ defense forced four turnovers on four straight possessions – resulting in four straight touchdowns, and they spent the night stymying the Tigers’ high-octane offense, leading Pennsbury to a 42-20 win over Harry S Truman.

Coach Dan McShane says:  “Trevor Williams is like our high school Reggie White – oftentimes we allow him to line up wherever he wants to line up. If he feels he can get a matchup, he’ll go and hopefully win the matchup. We have Roc and Rowe playing nose tackle. Zach Zauzig and Shane Hammer are defensive ends. We put the big fellow, Liam Donnelly, over there, and he was instrumental in the win. Behind them is Sam Burke and Jake Schilling at inside linebacker, and on the outside, it’s Drew Hensor and Shane Simmons. We have a Swiss Army Knife type of kid in Jake Krefetz, who plays a little bit inside and a little bit outside. On the back end, Christian Bond and Brad Mickles are playing corner, and Matt Carey is at safety.

“There’s a ton of want to, and now they’re figuring out how to. We ask them to do a lot of things compared to most high school defenses. We play multiple coverages, we’ve added a couple of different fronts. We run some zone pressures, we run some zero pressures. There’s a lot to it. A lot of those kids have been in the system now for a couple years, so it’s second nature to them. One of our big things is getting off the field on third-and-long, and we’ve been a lot more successful this year than we have in the past. They really understand the team concept, knowing you can count on your help to be there.

“I remember a couple of years ago coach Mark Schmidt said something to the effect that our Pennsbury defense plays like their hair’s on fire. That’s what we wanted Truman to experience - that we were going to have orange helmets everywhere, and they were going to go back to their sidelines and tell their coach, ‘Coach, they’re coming from everywhere and they’re flying around.’ That’s a nice kind of attitude to have. We talk about not playing with a clock in your head. Mike Singletary played for the Chicago Bears, and he said, ‘Play to the echo of the whistle,’ and if the average play lasts four seconds, we want to play for six.”

Ben Mullikin, Central Bucks West– The senior defensive back came up with an interception – one of four by the Bucks – and returned it 32 yards for a touchdown in Central Bucks West’s 45-10 win over archrival Central Bucks East. The Bucks’ defense allowed less than 150 yards of total offense.

Coach Rob Rowan says:  Ben had an interception for a touchdown that essentially put the game out of reach along with several QB hurries throughout the game.  Ben is a grinder who has been working to get on the field all year, and in one of his first starts of the season, he came up huge.  We worked all week on the big play he made and when the moment came, he played it as well as one could and reaped the rewards.  We are excited for Ben and the role he has taken on this team.

Sterling Limo Special Teams Players of the Week

Bailey Moyer, Central Bucks West – The senior placekicker connected on a 43-yard field goal and was a perfect 6-for-6 on PATs in Central Bucks West’s 45-10 win over Central Bucks East.

Coach Rob Rowan says:  Bailey has been a tremendous weapon all year.  He netted his longest field goal of the year, a 43 yarder, right before the end of the first half.  He had a touchdown saving tackle on a kick-off return as well as being 6/6 on PAT’s for the night.”
