Rachael Rolle, Senior, Council Rock South
Note from the coach:
“Rachael Rolle is a two-year varsity starter for CR South,” coach Lisa Belz said. “She is a solid midfielder who sees the field well and is able to distribute the ball under pressure. She has been matched up with some very talented opponents this season and has shown that she can perform well and lead our team during some very competitive games. Rachael can be silly and funny, but at the same time is a hardworking, dedicated player who really enjoys the sport. Rachael is looking to continue to play field hockey at the collegiate level and will be sorely missed by her Council Rock South teammates and coaches.”
About Rachael:
Best memory playing field hockey: My best memory is being invited to travel with the varsity team as a freshman to experience states.
Part of the game I enjoy the most: I love every part of the game, but my favorite has to be the first five and the last five of every game because it is so important to come out strong and finish strong.
How did you get involved in hockey? My mom and Mr. Mills forced me to try it in 7th grade and I am so grateful for that everyday.
My role model is: My great-grandma
Music on mobile device: Country
Favorite food: Chicken and Waffles
Favorite class: Spanish
Future plans: To attend college and play field hockey there
Four people – dead or alive – I’d invite to a dinner party: Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston, Aunt Colette, and Mama Belz
Karly Adkins, Senior, William Tennent
Note from the coach:
“Karly Adkins is the definition of a true athlete,” coach Julia Cummiskey said. “She is dedicated, hard working, great listener, and always comes ready to play. She gives 100 percent every single time she steps on the field and always plays with heart. Karly is a great leader on and off the field this year. She leads by example and can really get the best out of people. Her future is very bright and I am excited to see what direction it will go!”
About Karly:
Best memory playing field hockey: My favorite
memory was at a game last year against Truman.
We were in overtime and I made the winning assist
to Ava Doran to win one of the toughest games of
the year.
Part of the game I enjoy most: I enjoy the
beginning of the game the most because everyone
i s energetic and pumped up to win the game.
How did you get involved in hockey? I got involved in seventh grade at my middle school when I wanted to be involved in a fall sport.

Kayla Link, Senior, Plymouth Whitemarsh
Note from the coach:
“Kayla has been an integral member of our varsity squad for the past two seasons and has always demonstrated a commitment to improving and learning the game,” coach Charise Halteman said. “Kayla is an athlete who worked hard to earn a spot on varsity as a junior, and her positive attitude, team-first mentality, and her leadership on the field has made her a great team captain this season. I have been so impressed with her composure and good decision-making when she has the ball. Kayla is a great example of the benefit of having senior defenders on your team. She is not the flashiest player, nor does she earn recognition for her efforts, but her consistency and ability to maintain possession for our team have been invaluable!"
About Kayla:
Best memory playing field hockey: Coming together as a team to beat Haverford this year for the first time.
Part of the game I enjoy the most: Being such a close-knit team on and off the field. It’s like having 30 built in best friends.
How did you get involved in hockey? I had many friends in elementary school that played. I thought it looked really fun, so I decided to join our township league in fifth grade.
My role model is: My mom
Music on mobile device: All genres from pop to rock to EDM (for getting pumped up before games!) including a lot of throwbacks
Favorite food: Pasta
Favorite class: Biology
Future plans: Study biomedicine at Kean University and go to medical school afterwards.
Four people – dead or alive – I’d invite to a dinner party: Michael Jordan, Michelle Obama, Anne Sage and John F. Kennedy
Grace Ball, Senior, Wissahickon
Note from the coach:
“Grace has made a terrific impact on the team this year,” coach Lucy Gil said. “She is a great role model for her work ethic, her commitment to the team and her grit and determination. I love that even though she's committed to a DI school, she works harder than anyone else in practice and she pushes everyone else around her to work hard too. She often plays hurt and no one would know. She would never let her team down to take a day off. That's just not in her nature. Grace is a generally a quiet, low key kind of girl, but when you put a stick in her hand she becomes a game changer and a leader.”
About Grace:
Best memory playing field hockey: My best memory playing field hockey is winning in overtime after an intense game during Senior Night against Springfield.
Part of the game I enjoy the most: The part of the game that I enjoy the most would be the celebration after a goal is scored. In those few seconds after the goal, the overall sense of togetherness as a team is at its highest.
How did you get involved in hockey? My mom introduced me to field hockey at a young age, and coached me in a recreational league from first to eighth grade.
My role model is: My role model is Katie Bam because her hard work and dedication to the sport of field hockey has kept me motivated and given me goals to aspire to. In addition, she is an alum of my high school.
Music on mobile device: I have an eclectic playlist with everything from Travis Scott to Zach Brown Band to Queen.
Favorite food: Although it is hard to pick just one, my favorite food would have be, good old fashion mac and cheese.
Favorite class: My favorite class is Language Arts, because I enjoy expressing myself in writing.
Future plans: After graduating high school, I will be attending Appalachian State University to continue my education, as well as to fulfill my dream of playing division one field hockey.
Four people – dead or alive – I’d invite to a dinner party: The four people that I would invite to a dinner party are Gordan Ramsey, Freddie Mercury, Jesus, and my mom. First, I would invite Gordan Ramsey because he would prepare the amazing meal. Freddie Mercury because of his impact on the music industry and he would provide the entertainment. Jesus, for obvious reasons, plus who better to say grace? Lastly, my mom because it wouldn't be a dinner party without my mom.
