Jackie Koellner – Senior at Neshaminy High School
A two-year varsity player, Koellner anchored the defense at center back after seeing action in the midfield as well as at defensive back last year. She was involved on both sides the offensive and defensive corners and assumed a leadership role on the team as a captain.
Note from the coach:
“As a senior captain, Jackie played the whole season with heart,” coach Caitlin Koczynski said. “She was the player to rely on. Jackie’s leadership on and off the field was unparalleled. She came into preseason ready to take charge of the defense. She encourages the players around her as well as the younger girls. Jackie plays every game with 110 percent.”

Carly Pickford
The Maidens’ senior captain is a three-year varsity player. She was a consistent performer on the Maidens’ forward line but was willing to play any position needed to help the team.
Note from the coach:
“Carly is such a positive influence on the team,” co-coach Carrie Jankowski said. “She is incredibly dedicated and hardworking. Her positive attitude and work ethic inspire the younger girls on the team. Carly missed a bunch of games during the season due to a concussion, but she was at practice every day doing anything she could to help the team. For Carly, the team comes first. North Penn field hockey is going to miss her.”
About Carly:
Best memory playing field hockey: Our win over Central Bucks South to move forward in district playoffs this year. Unforgettable.
Part of game I enjoy most: I can’t point to one single part of the game and say it’s my favorite, but the game of field hockey in general serves as a huge outlet for me. Being surrounded by teammates who love the sport as much as I do and being part of something so fulfilling is entirely enjoyable in itself. There is nothing I’ve ever experienced that is quite as exhilarating.
My role model is: Mia Hamm
Music that gets me pumped before games: Rap, specifically ‘Outta Your Mind’
Favorite food: Ice cream
Favorite TV show: One Tree Hill
Chocolate or vanilla: Chocolate

Meg McCullough & Mollie Getzfread – Seniors at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School
McCullough and Getzfread – who are both four-year varsity starters – anchored the Colonials’ midfield. McCullough contributed 13 goals and 12 assists while Getzfread, a captain, had 13 goals and eight assists. McCullough plays corner defense and is a striker on offensive corners while Getzfread is a flier on defensive corners and a striker on offensive corners. Both are two-time first team all-league selections, and both were named first team all-state as juniors. Both are part of the Futures program. McCullough plays club hockey for the Mystx while Getzfread plays for FSC. McCullough has made a commitment to play hockey for Quinnipiac next season while Getzfread has committed to play hockey for Indiana University out of the Big 10. McCullough is a member of the Junior National U-17 field hockey team that will be traveling to Scotland in December
Note from the coach:
About Meg: “She has a great passion for the game and has put a tremendous amount of time and energy into becoming the player she is today,” coach Marianne Paparone said. “Meg understands the game and sees the field really well, which makes her a great passer. She is the type of player who helps to raise the level of the players around her. She has excellent offensive 1v1 skills and a strong shot on goal. She is also super competitive and hates to lose, even to a teammate in a drill. She has been a huge asset to our program over the last four seasons.”
About Mollie: “She reminds me of the Energizer Bunny after a six-pack of Red Bulls,” coach Marianne Paparone said. “Mollie is very quick, and during a typical game, she will have covered the field endline to endline and sideline to sideline multiple times. She is a reliable teammate and a fierce competitor, who recovers extremely well. She has great speed and endurance, and her stick skills have improved tremendously over the last four years. She gives 110 percent all the time, every day, every drill (and during) conditioning, and after a game, she is completely spent. She is a great teammate who has an outstanding future ahead of her at Indiana.”
