Colin Bruton – Senior, Abington High School
Colin has been playing ice hockey for 14 years, four of which have been with the Abington varsity team and three years with the Abington Middle School program. He has been Abington’s team Captain for the past two years after being named an Assistant Captain in his sophomore year. Colin is one of the most dependable and hardest working players on the Ghosts squad. He is a consistent leader on and off the ice who leads by example and makes everyone strive to play better through positivity and encouragement. He will continue his hockey career at Indiana University of Pennsylvania as a Crimson Hawk where he will major in Biology.

Colin most recently exhibited one of his best defensive performances in slowing down one of the league’s best players in a recent come-from-behind Abington win over Wissahickon in a battle for first place in the American Division of the SHSHL.

Note from the coach:
“Colin is the heartbeat of our team and all of our players take notice of his hard work ethic,” according to Ken Brzozowski, Abington Head Coach. “Colin has mentored and enabled our young team to grow which is paying dividends as the team has become a well-balanced unit, both offensively and defensively.

“I am really proud of our accomplishments and excited for the remainder of the season, especially for Colin and the rest of our seniors because the past few years have been a challenge with us missing the postseason the last two years, and it would be fitting for them to end their high school career with a postseason run.

“One of my most memorable moments of Colin was from last year when he scored an overtime game-winning goal against Souderton which resulted in a massive eruption of celebration by the team and everyone swarming Colin.”
