SOL SHSHL Player of the Week
This recognition is sponsored by Bergey’s Inc. Athletes are chosen based on nomination of coaches, and the recipient must be a positive presence on the ice and a credit to the game. Consideration also is given to the student-athlete’s standing in the school and community.
Brendan Sherwood – Senior at William Tennent High School
An alternate captain as both a junior and senior, Sherwood is a four-year player who leads by example. He has been the team’s second line center for the last three years, and through four games has contributed a goal and two assists.
Note from the coach:
“He’s the type of kid that it’s been a complete pleasure to have on my team for four years,” coach Nick D’Aurizio said. “He’s never caused one problem. He’s been the definition of a lead-by-example type of kid on the ice, off the ice. He’s just a role model. He’s got his head on straight. He comes from a great family. From a player standpoint, he’s super reliable. He’s always there, he always wants to win, he does what he’s told, and he really does lead by example. He’s a good player – he’s smart, and he’s a coach’s dream, really.”
