Chase D’Arcangelo – Senior at Council Rock North High School
A four-year member of the program, D’Aracangelo saved the Indians’ season when he stepped up and volunteered to play goalie after the team’s only goalie was removed from the squad for disciplinary reasons. He is 5-1 between the pipes for a Rock North squad that is in the hunt for the SHSHL American Conference title. In the spring, he is a member of Rock North’s baseball team.

Note from the coach:
“Chase started as a freshman with no hockey experience and worked his butt off the last three years,” coach Eric Tye said. “He was reaping the rewards. He was off to a great start his senior year. He had four goals in three games, and then I had to get rid of our goalie for disciplinary reasons. Chase didn’t hesitate to volunteer to play in goal.
“The kid singlehandedly saved our season. We had no goalie. He never did it before, but he didn’t even think twice about it. He said, ‘I’ll do it.’ It was a selfless move on his part. This kid practiced as a goalie literally for one hour before we put him in a game, and he is doing phenomenal.
“Chase is a real good kid, and the best thing about him is he’s the team clown too. I’ll remember this for the rest of my life – he practiced for an hour, and we’re in the locker room before the game, and I’m telling the team, ‘You’ve got to block as many shots as you can. You can’t expect him to stop everything. The less Chase has to do…’ I’m in mid-sentence trying to get my team ready, and Chase is like, ‘I’m getting a shutout.’ He’s someone who keeps everyone laughing and loose.”
