WARRINGTON – This year’s Coaches vs. Cancer effort at Central Bucks South was a group effort, and so it was appropriate that a group took part in Thursday’s check presentation to the American Cancer Society.
After a brief reception, Alison Blanchard, president of the Class of 2010, presented a check in the amount of $8,500 to Joy Bentley, a representative of the American Cancer Society. The presentation marked the culmination of an effort to promote cancer awareness and raise funds for a cure that began with last fall’s Pink Out and ended with the recent winter Black Out.
Many of the key players in CB South’s Coaches vs. Cancer initiative were present at Thursday’s reception. The list of those who played major roles included the following:

Last fall’s Pink Out, which was held at a football game, included 25 students council volunteers and raised $3,000. The more recent Black Out, which was held at a boys/girls basketball double header, included 50 student council volunteers as well as 20 community sponsors and raised more than $5,000.
