CENTRAL BUCKS EAST FINISHES SECOND AT LADY HATTER INVITATIONAL
Thirty-six golfers kicked off the 2018 high school girls golf season at Talamore C.C. Thursday. Hatboro-Horsham hosted their annual invitational which featured six teams. The girls battled the heat and extremely difficult back-nine par 36 at Talamore.
Downingtown East ran away with the team title, as the Cougars posted a 169 with an outstanding 1-over par 37 from Liddie McCook. CB East was the team runner-up with a score of 201 led by second place individual finisher Sarah Scarpill’s 40.
Scarpill was accompanied by Sabrina Irey’s 48, Loren Harper’s 55 and Liv Sala’s 58. Hatboro-Horsham finished fourth just five shots behind the Patriots with a 206. The Lady Hatters were led by Hailey Phillips’ 48. Sheila Fisher shot 49 and Annie Griffith added a 55 and Katie Quiqley posted a 54.
Phoenixville edged out the Hatters for third place with a 205, Spring-Ford was fifth with a 223 team score and Boyertown shot 235. Six players competed from each team, and the top four scores comprised the team scoring.
