CR North @ Ford Tough Challenge - 09-26-2009

Council Rock North finished first in Pool A at the Ford Tough Challenge, compiling a 7-1 record. The Indians won both games against 10^th-ranked Penncrest (25-23, 25-22) and outscored the area’s top-ranked team, Bishop Shanahan, in total points over two games. The Indians won game two of the Shanahan match 25-16 after falling 19-25 in game one. They advanced to the quarterfinals before losing to an impressive Cardinal O’Hara team in a tightly-contested match (20-25, 25-23, 12-15).

Individual highlights included:

Senior Sarah Kiely, who had 21 kills and 13 blocks was named to the all-tournament team

Senior Jackie Davies – 74 assists

Junior Bialey Dowd – 25 kills

Junior Rachel Friedman – 21 kills, 36 digs

Junior Caroline Anderson – 10 kills, 26 digs

Junior Dani Borgia – 32 digs

 

The Indians, who are 6-0, will face Council Rock South on Tuesday night at home and will travel to Pennsbury on Thursday night.
