"Despite Power Outage, Lady Hawks Bowl their way to Victory over Host
Lady Colonials in Nonleague Season Opener"
Thursday 9 December 2010, Facenda Whitaker Lanes, Norristown, PA.

Norristown PA- The Plymouth Whitemarsh Lady Colonials wished that
class of 2010 graduate Amy Costello was still on the squad. In a
scrimmage that occured on Wednesday 8 December 2010, Costello, along
with fello 2010 PW grad Kelly Packer, dominated over their former team
with the Facenda Whitakers all-star team in a scrimmage. PW would have
also liked Costello to bowl against the Lady Hawks because Costello
bowled a 2009-2010 PW Girls high of 258 against the Hawks on February
1,2010, at Brunsuick Zone.
Then there was a power outage on this Decmber
9,2010, which which occured at Facenda Whitaker at 4:18PM, that caused
one minute of pitch black and shut off lanes and scoring monitors and
suspension of the second game that was in progress. Plymouth Whitemarsh
Bowling team statistician, Scott S.D. Weiss, fortunately recorded opens,
spares, splits, and strikes for the Colonials up to that point, but the
scoring monitors luckily recovered the scores as the lanes re-operated
twelve minutes later at 4:30 PM. However, at 4:42 PM the varsity Lady
Hawks at Lady Colonials were moved to Facenda Whitaker Lanes 15 and 16
due to lane technical issues at the original lanes. Moreover, the Lady
Hawks and Lady Colonials played only two games due to the outage and
bowling leagues, but game two continued with the same scores before the
outage as those scores were recovered (15 minutes of practice occured
before the resumption).
The Lady Hawks spoiled the home and season
opener for Plymouth Whitemarsh. Council Rock South convincingly took
game 1, 805-768, and closely took game 2, 812-786 for a 1617-1554 total
series and 3-0 games victory over host PW. Danielle Modica's 168, Lilly
Haigh's 170, and Jessica Kratowicz's 168 paced the Hawks in game 1.
Lauren Enslin bowled 192, and first-time PW bowler Jamie Pugielli put on
a spectacular first-time performance with 177 for the first game for the
Lady Colonials. In game 2, Kratowicz bowled strikes in four of her final
five frames for a match-high 201 to finish with a Lady Hawk high 369
series, as Lilly Haigh put on another 170 performance; Haigh had a 244
game against PW during the 2009-2010 season during a nonleague match at
Brunsuick Zone. Enslin had a strike or spare in her first nine game 2
frames, en route to a 183 game and match-high 375 series for PW.
                     PW (0-3 overall,0-0 SOA) will host Hatboro-Horsham
in their season's league opener on Monday December 13,2010.
